A stencil would look awesome on that bar area, just be careful when picking a pattern and make sure it doesn't clash with the rug.

Yeah, go for it! It's only paint and a small area at that, so if it doesn't look as you intended once complete, just paint over it. I'll bet it will look good though!

In the last image, the blue adds orangey tones to your cabinets.

I would leave it as is and maybe add color with stool cushions.

I wouldn't do anything to highlight that area. It will just make the area look choppy. I like the idea of adding blue through some stool cushions instead or maybe painting the interior of the front door.

I'd leave the wall as is and get your blue fix in other ways. The piece over your couch is beautiful as is the rug.

I understand your wanting to repeat the rug since it's so pretty. I tried painting your stools different colors and came to the conclusion that it's perfect the way it is. The wood stools and plain bar wall allow the rug to command the attention it deserves. In case you don't believe me...
