Paint Design Dilemma Exterior

Need help with shutter color. Please help

We cant decide on a shutter color. The original color is the burgundy and we tried a colonial blue. Should we use either of these or is there a better color to use. We would greatly appreciate any help. I just want it to look nice and classic. Thank you

It doesn't get more classic than black. The shutters on the left should be twice as wide as they are currently in order to be sized correctly for the windows though.

I like the colonial blue but would also consider white as you have a lot of darkness from the brick and roof color and white works well with the widows and trim. Best wishes!

If you make the other changes as suggested, I don't think you'll feel the need to paint the brick. There's no sense creating a maintenance issue where there is none now. The house has the potential to be very handsome. Some pretty pots with flowers on either side of your door will add some color as well. Don't forget that nothing looks pretty this time of year when trees are bare and lawns are brown.

“ I would have to rethink the black over the bottom windows . . . “. Why? I guess if you wanted the black to be gone, reshingle the roof-ette on the right to match the regular roof, and paint that black trim piece (is that what it is?) on the left to match the body of the house.

Pretty house! I actually like the current siding color and think Oyster Bay would look good, too. The current siding color is nice with your roof color, and OB would also work. The black shutters look good and so would Iron Ore. Kind of win-win for you IMO. :-)

Remove the shutters they actually detract form the windows the house is such a mish mash of styles i would keep the front door a simple one painted the same as the house that entry has so much going on no need for anything else.IMO the front porch is all wrong for the house and I would remove it and replace the doors with a large window to make it look like it was never a porch.Sorry but the architect that designed this house should get another job.

I like the blue color, but, think the blue you chose is a bit bright. Try a more grayed out blue.

IMO the black roof and brown brick is too dark. I would consider limewashing the brick.
