Sol's Dirt Bombs, in miniature

Elery's youngest son is going to visit tomorrow with his family and they will be here for breakfast. What better time to do some baking? And so, I decided we'll have Linda/Doucanoe's hash brown quiche, or a version of that, waffles with strawberries for the girls, who are 5 and 1 and love waffles, some bacon from that pig we just put in the freezer and Sol's Dirt Bombs. But, since the girls are small I decided to miniaturize them.

They kind of look like donut holes, don't they?

The texture is kind of a cross between a muffin and a donut:

I got 24 little mini muffins and they are lurking in my kitchen, the cardamom is just calling to me....

Here's a link to Sol's original recipe and her much, much prettier picture!

I can't believe I've been making this recipe since 2007, over a decade. It's definitely a keeper, thanks Sol!
