A cautionary tale about labeling your plants

I had two caladiums that died back rather early this year. I always said I was going to put labels into them, but evidently, I never did, because now they are lost. I have no idea which pots they are in, or whether I may have reused the soil in the pots, or planted something else in the pots. I may have one of them coming up now, but the other is probably lost, because I know it was in a smaller pot, and there are no smaller pots without plants in them.

Caladium bulbs aren't expensive, but one of them was important to me because it came from a friend, and was very unusual. I can only hope that if they are somewhere, in some pot, they'll come up in the spring.
