Living Room/Dining Room Entry Paint Color Ideas
Comments (10)My first question is What is your favorite color? You have excellent neutrals that could work with any color. If you love the cool gray green of Farrow and Ball's french gray I say go for that color. That is a color that can compliment many different colors from the gold warm tan drapes to a fire hot red chair or a deep green alligator. Go with what you like and you will be amazed that it works. If you think the Farrow and Ball French Gray is a little too green based you might consider another FB paint called Light also by FB French Gray FB Light by Farrow and Ball I like mixing cool and warm in different venues for drama. Obviously not all the colors but keeping it simple to two basic hues and working with them is ideal. You have one small wall behind your china cabinet that you could paint in a gold tan to match the drapes but the rest of the walls the Blue gray Farrow and ball you are thinking of would be perfect. Here are some combinations of gray blue and tan that look stunning. Comments (2)Hello Hillari Lube , You have a lot going on in a tiny space! AND you say the word, 'wonky,' like I do - you from New York by any chance? Anyway - the big piece that neither of us seem thrilled with - would that fit rotated to the wall immediately to it's right? It would make it less of a focal point and with a nice desk, small shelf and a painting above where it is now - you have a much more functional space & hopefully something that takes the eye away from the big piece... From there it seems console table or small bookcase the L side of the couch would set up something that defines a small circular table for a dining area. Hope that helps. We give every project a free 15 min. strategy session. Hit us up! Thanks, -frank...See MoreNeed help with curtain ideas for my living room
Comments (4)No. There's no space between the windows so it needs to be treated as one window with panels only at the ends. It's such a wide window that you'd need as least three, maybe more, widths or panels at each end. I can't tell from the pic however, if there's enough wall space at the sides to accommodate that many. It's also hard to tell if they're short windows. You may be better off with just shades or blinds....See MorePls help with large, carpeted, dated, combined living/dining room.
Comments (16)I agree with measuring well, and I also agree that a 3-seater sofa and two chairs would be your best option. When you move, you would be able to most likely use both in a new place, or you would perhaps be able to either use the sofa or the chairs. And it gives you the most flexibility with options for furniture placement. Also, since you would like to use the space for tv watching and entertaining with family and friends, the sofa and 2 chairs would be the best fit, I think. I would keep it simple. I would not paint. I would also switch what you are planning - and I would instead use the space in front of fireplace for the dining area. If you’d like, you could bring in some rugs for more definition; and you could do a swag plug-in chandelier in dining area. I don’t know your style, so these are just some general ideas/views. But if you like any of the items i’ve used, I do have links for them :) Another chandelier: Below, a view with swag plug-in chandelier in dining area. They come in a variety of styles, this is just one: . Below, with rug to define living room:. And I would put the tv to the left of the fireplace - by that wall/window - on a floating/mobile tv stand/cart/console with wheels. That way, the tv can be seen from dining area, but can also be swung around to view from the living room area. It gives you the most flexibility for tv placement in this arrangement; and I see that there is an outlet right there, below that window. I would place the sofa on the long, window-free wall that faces the dining area and windows. And maybe a plant on right side of fireplace, and some art or a mirror over fireplace....See Morehummingalong2
