Hydro-jetting a failing drain field

A sept system recently failed due to unsatisfactory drain field absorption. During a second inspection a flow test was performed- during the flow test water within the septic tank rose 4 inches above the outlet pipe (which has a riser installed indicating previous drainage problems). The water level went down about 1 inch after 20 minutes showing some drainage was occurring. Auger holes over the drain field only allowed for 4-5 inches before hitting water- recommendation (and I believe state law requires 12-18 inches). The drain pipes have debris and roots in them. Would hydro-jetting the drain field pipes help at all in preventing the drain field from failing? What benefit would there be? What dangers would there be? The system is 30+ years old- really needs to be replaced but curious if this can be prevented with hydro jetting?
