What should I do with this asymmetrical fireplace?
Comments (28)Before the demolition started, the entire room was paneled. There was wood everywhere! I guess the wall on the right that was paneled balanced out the doors that were on the left cabinet, wood box and old mantel. We have replaced all the wood in the rest of the house with white doors and mouldings and all the walls are painted a light color. All the carpet in the bedrooms, bathrooms, hallways, entry ways, living room, & dining room (literally wall-to-wall carpet) has been replaced with a medium stained hardwood floor and porcelain tile. Comments (2)Cindy, Because of your location (zone) cannas can freeze without protection. Since yours have somehow survived in their present location you might simply remove the above ground foliage after a light killing frost and heavily mulch the rhizomes to prevent freezing: otherwise you can simply dig the rhizome clump and store in a cool moist area and prevent the rhizomes for drying out. Comments (14)@spiritflower the mirror is leaning on the mantel for right now until I hang it so it’s angled up and the way I took the photo I angled the camera up so you could see the whole fireplace. you won’t actually be looking at the air vent, it will be mirroring the dining room.
