jencox - I can't answer your question and most postings here are more technical in nature. Try reposting on the Home Decoration forum. Some talented poster there will assist, I'm sure. A photo might help too. BTW, I understand the DH not wanting to trim the doors again. Mine hates trim but I don't mind doing it so long as he does the rolling. Between us we make one competent painter! In our home I used colors from the same SW card in the Entry, LR, DR stairway and halls to avoid day/night color conflicts like you are experiencing. Here are photos of our Entry and if you check the link from "My Page" you can see adjacent room photos where the colors continue. Our colors are SW rather than BM. Not personally familiar with the colors you mention but ours are: Accent in Foyer continuing into LR - Latte; LR/DR and first flight of the stairs is Kilim Beige; then in the corner changes to Divine White. We also have good light on the 1st floor but used the Divine White through the interior hallway upstairs. Our most difficult decisions were where to break the colors. Hope this helps. I wanted to post some after photos and thank everyone who took the time to comment. It turns out that the wall was "indented" when we removed the chair rail so my DH has spent several weekends to build it back up with joint compound and texture it to blend in with the walls. It was a painfully tedious process (first trying to do it by hand, then with a sponge, then with spray-on compound that dribbled everywhere, and finally with a trowel lightly loading dabs of compound on). If you look closely you can still tell, but it's not as glaring as it was several iterations ago. Suffice to say, we are thrilled to be done with sanding, priming, texturing, and painting! Now, I need to figure out what wall decor to put up as the removal of the chair rail makes it a much easier space to deal with! Any and all advice would be appreciated. I was thinking of doing a photo gallery near the front entry, but that is a HUGE wall and I don't know that I can put photos high enough where you can still see them but not so low that the wall looks off-balance. Forgive the quality of the photos, taken without a flash on my iPhone.

Wife and I are looking into repainting the interior of our house. You'll see the paint test zones on the wall scattered around. Our house was painted by the previous owners. I just recently finished staining the cabinets and rebuilding the kitchen island. (Mind the mess in the photos!) Anyway Here's the photos. Looking to repaint the entire Foyer. I was considering painting the inside of the front door Red to match the outside... Still not sure. As for colors for the Kitchen/Living area we were looking for something more neutral in the house. The only requirements my wife has is no yellow (apparently its a couples fighting color) and that we don't paint the fireplace wall something that will wash into our white fireplace (unless we can get a recommendation for that too).
