Family room design dilema
Comments (5)I prefer wood trim in most cases, especially with brick like yours. If you do paint it you could paint the walls a warm beigey/white and the trim a little darker....See Moreliving room design Paint & Curtains- help design!
Comments (71)i am not a pro... but I have similar situation with lighter couches than yours but lots of natural light and light wood floors, tried accessible beige (100%. and 75%), agreeable grey, natural choice, neutral ground, shoji white and one or two others. In process of painting with pearly white at 115%... it's very different than what we had but I really like that it's warm white, but still crisp look and goes well with lots of elements and looks great with my Naval walls in adjacent library and navy accents.. Many of the other colors looked nice during the day but came off pretty dark and more color forward at night even with lighting....See MoreLiving room styling dilema
Comments (13)Thank you very much guys for help and answers! I was thinking about grey curtains just as decorations on both sides ( @calidesign roman shades- not sure about it, windows are like doubled and in the middle is some kind of shade i can pull down in case we need to hide from sun). @plf12652 TV would be in the corner right where is the wooden wall. We have 2 of those “climbing“ plants 2 metres long and also some classic, just smaller in pots. I was thinking aobut hanging them right behind the couch, so wall would be covered with it, might it be good? instead of big painting? I will try to arrange that within 2 days so i can try show u how it would look like. @acm that olive couch might be really good idea, i will try to search for one in my budget! I was also interested in rug as you showed before @Beth, but me and my girlfriend are alergic to dust a bit, so i was afraid it will get uncofrtable. And that table, true, i hated it since start so im thinking of putting it away and get something else, what would fit that style best? (or color)...See MoreNeed help with living room/dining room funiture design
Comments (9)Living room dining room combos make me really happy. How many in your household?Do you eat at this table nightly or most commonly eat in the kitchen? Do you sit at this table and do other things like projects, kids with homework, gather with friends? Do you have another living area in this house that you chill out in or is the seating in this room going to be the makn ha g out space in your home? Who will sit here and when, what time of day, to read, be with guests, hang out? I’d love to see the table turned 90 degrees so it is parallel to the window and living in that area next to and along side the window. It just makes sense to me for the layout and lines of this room. It may or may not make sense though for who uses this space and when. Main question, do you want the daylight and view from the window to be enjoyed as a table space or sofa space? The buffet /cabinet is a great piece but looks super bad next to the wood where it is currently located. I’d put it on the long white wall near where your desk is currently located and use it as a visual bridge between you window/dining area and a sitting area where your sofa is currently located. Light fixture is fine where it is do not use it to determine furniture zones. Stone area is a lot of look. Don’t put furniture or other things over there. Just give it space to be what it is. Nice that you dont need desk, piano, or TV in here....See MoreSuzette Sherman Design
