Living Room Design Dilema
Comments (3)What you would like to see when you sitting on sofa? Probably outside not barn doors to the bathroom. I would just suggest moving sofa away from wall. Also you need to consider traffic patterns and make sure people don't need to jump over coffee table to get to bedroom....See Moreopen concept dining / living room dilema
Comments (3)Hi Pamela! I would check out CB2 for dining furniture. They have really stepped up their game lately, and I feel like their modern designs will compliment your living room. They are also super affordable! Another suggestion...you got to paint those walls! I'm sorry but that yellow does not want to live with your pretty living room furniture. And window treatments can totally soften the whole space too! Check out Jenny Komenda from Little Green Notebook. She makes Ikea drapes look like custom! Good luck. :)...See MoreOpen concept – updated dining room to old-style living room.
Comments (6)Thank you very much. I figured it would be better to pair back and simplify things. My husband likes the cabinets but I thought about painting them black or grey, if I can't convince him it would be better to remove them completely. Love the idea about the black frame on the fireplace....See MoreTraditional Style Living Room/Kitchen Interior Design in NYC
Comments (4)I don't think you need to limit yourself to "upper Manhattan" Much will depend your budget, especially in Manhattan. ....and ANY portion of NYC in general. A traditional/ classic look ( Yes, there ARE those who of us who still love it) .....can be put together in a million ways. At as many price points, in antique stores, or brand new. Fabulous things can be found in consignment, as folks "de value" a traditional look ! You do want to stay a distance from "newbie" designers, young.... and perhaps a bit less likely to love what you love . But. A seasoned/talented designer in Manhattan will ignore you..........unless the budget to go with. Or you will be passed off to someone starting out in even a small design studio. What you CAN do is go to the NYDC design building @ 200 Lexington Avenue, and ask for a referral to someone suited to your look and budget, via their "access to designers" https://nydc.com/access-to-design/ and they will advise based on your look, and budget........ One more tip.....Don't let a designers portfolio be the only driver of decision. A good designer is an interpreter, a travel agent. He she can produce results as varied as the number of places to dine in Manhattan: ) You look at execution. No matter the "look" : ) YOU are seeking. Or...... you can contact me via Houzz.....give me some idea all above. Scope, budget etc....See More- 3 years agolast modified: 3 years ago
