Dry Eye Syndrome, fluctuating cloudy vision, Restasis
Comments (1)The article below is very informative. It mentions blurry vision and the weepy eye is from an over production of tears caused by the restasis. Another site I visited suggested alternative meds for dry eye if you are not happy with what you are using. I would ask your doctor for another med if you are worried about this. I have a lot of problems with meds, they often rebound on me, meaning it will cause the same problem it is suppose to prevent. As far as the driving goes, it maybe caused by not blinking. I used to have that problem when driving but worked at remembering to blink. When I blinked it would take my crazy eyes a bit to refocus. Comments (1)I tried to blame my severe dry eyes on menopause and the loss of estrogen, but my eye dr. just said he it happens in young women as well. It did go away after 6 months and hasnt come back. But I dont wear my contacts anymore either....See Moredog with 'dry eyes' ..... any ideas?
Comments (6)Your dog will probably need drops for the rest of its' life. Here's the thing: First, you need to check the white part of the eyes with and without drops, to see if the eyes truly get irritated AFTER you use the Cyclosporin/Oil drops. Your dog may simply not like any drops being applied to the eyes for a few seconds, or there may be something in that mixture that burns the eyes. If the eyes become more red after the application then you need to try different LUBRICANTS. Eyes are very tricky. You need to apply, check and watch to make sure proper medication is prescribed. I had a dog with eye issues. Certain eye meds are NOT cheap! I think I went thru at least 20 different eye lubricants (people and for pets). We finally figured out that she was allergic to some type of lubricant that all the eye meds had in common. I had to import and eye medicaton from Canada called I-Drop VET . www.imedpharma.com. or (514)685-8118. I am NOT affiliated with them and I hope the info is still good. This was 4 years ago. I used the Canadian drops because they were made differently than the US meds, didn't burn and they didn't have that "foreign body" feel after application. I also had to use very little Prednisone ( 1 drop every day). Keep in mind that your dog's situation may be different, so you need to discuss all this with your Vet or an Opthalmologist. I just threw that extra allergy information and Canadian med out there for anyone who is struggling and can't find the right eye medication for their dog. Who would have thought that a dog can be allergic to the actual lubricant in the Lubricant med?...See MorePuffiness Under Eyes ...Remedy ????
Comments (9)whispering... I hear... prep H works. I'm afraid to try it, but it makes sense. If it reduces swelling in one part of the body, why not another? I'd have to find a really pretty container to put it in though, just to disguise it (from myself!). I've also heard a cold spoon, cucumber, green tea ice cubes...and last: Remedy for Dark Circles or Puffiness Under Eyes The following list of ingredients to reduce bags or bruising under the eyes are cheap and easy to find at your local drug store or online. -Empty 4oz bottle with lid -100% pure chamomile essential oil -Witch hazel -Cotton balls or cotton cosmetic pads Mix together in the empty bottle 4oz of witch hazel and four drops of chamomile essential oil. Put the lid on the bottle and shake well. Store in the refrigerator until needed. To use the homemade solution, dampen two cotton balls or cotton cosmetic pads with the cool witch hazel and chamomile liquid. Lay down and place one cotton ball over each closed eye. Be sure to lay your head on a pillow to help raise your head above heart level since this also helps to reduce swelling under the eyes. Rest for five minutes or so while the puffy eye treatment takes effect. Avoid opening your eyes with the compresses on since the mixture will sting. Once the dampened cotton balls are removed, let your skin dry before opening your eyes. This mixture can be used as needed, or even on a daily basis.
