Exterior Paint Dilemma with Almond Vinyl Windows
Comments (23)I would love something like shoji white but I’m not sure how that would Look against the almond. I'll take working with almond over stark white windows any day - so much easier. Can tell you how I deal with them. "Almond" is not the same color brand to brand so we measure the color of the windows. We use a Spectro 1 Pro, but a more affordable Color Muse works too. Settings in the app have to be Illuminant D65, 2 degree observer. One of the windows in the app will give you the hue angle of the Almond color. Then it's just a matter of finding colors in the same hue angle range. If you do that, post back with the hue angle and I can post a list of colors that fit. A color like Shoji is definitely possible, just need to make sure it aligns - relates correctly - with the Almond....See MoreExterior dilemma
Comments (11)What a beautiful house. I love the details like the generous overhang, the corbels, and the six over one windows. The first think you should do is cut the yews down to almost half their height. It will look horrible for awhile, but yews respond well to heavy pruning. I would add a line of variegate creeping euonymus. Ferns and hosta would fill in nicely. If that is ivy, I would get rid of it. It is a thug. I can see your house in a blue:...See MoreAnother 80's Rock Exterior Dilemma - Help!

The diagonal orientation apparently allows water to seep into the siding much more so than vertically or horizontally installed siding....See MoreHouse exterior dilemma - of center door, brick and cream
Comments (10)I'm hoping that someone who thinks limewashing the brick is a fine idea will join in. I agree the house would look better one color. If OP likes any of the paint suggestions posted here, problem solved. But since the other house sides would need to be painted, I would think lightening one wall of brick is the simplest solution. Otherwise, maybe paint the fascia to match the roof....See Moreacm
