How about a soft green? Make the color of the front door a shade darker so it is not so prominent. Take the shutters off the lone window.

Maybe plant a tree in the yard.

Just replace the cream with a medium gray

Do you think painting the vinyl siding all the way around the house is necessary or just the front? And then do we need to paint the trim as well?

IMO you paint all the sides of a house and I too love this with red brick and do all the trim too. BTW covering brick with anything paint, lime wash etc is IMO the fastest way to devalue your house .Remove the shutter too and then get to work on landscaping a much better use of your money than wrecking the brick.

I dont know why builders do that. We see a lot of houses on here that are done like that. To me, it looks like someone took two houses, and stuck them together. I would try for a reddish color that is in your brick, maybe a muted tone, and blend the siding into the brick, rather than repaint to something that still looks the same way.

I'm hoping that someone who thinks limewashing the brick is a fine idea will join in. I agree the house would look better one color. If OP likes any of the paint suggestions posted here, problem solved. But since the other house sides would need to be painted, I would think lightening one wall of brick is the simplest solution. Otherwise, maybe paint the fascia to match the roof.

Yes I think altering the brick color to match the siding is going to be the cheapest and best option. I honestly think this is showing me that the thing I hate is the brick color. Maybe I’m crazy for not liking the monotone look of this brick, and maybe it will “devalue” the home, but I think it just needs to change! Hahaha

I hate to see really nice brick painted, but, in your case, I think you are absolutely right, to paint it. Please make sure the paint or wash on the brick, is for brick. Brick needs to breathe, or painting can cause further problems, however there is special paint just for brick. One brand is Romabio

If you only have brick on the front, paint it to match the siding. Paint the front door a softer taupe and remove the shutters for a more updated look.
