I suggest a tile set that is noticed from a long, middle, and close up distance. This is a recent installation that I think would be nice in your home.

That's a fairly dark gray. I hope there are lots of windows for natural light. If you select satin chrome light fixtures they will be the same value as your walls and blend in to the walls. I would contrast with fixtures in an iron like or blackish bronze finish Designers do not typically recommend lights on ceiling fans. The quality of the light is typically not flattering.

yeah, gray and tropical don't go together. Paint the walls another color. Maybe paint that one wall green, and the other walls white get some shelves over the toilet, if you do art on the other wall. how about some faux succulents plants? you could do something like this on the large bare wall and fill these w/faux succulents or other plants. easy to do w/wood dowels. paint the wall green, or paint the wall white and do the wood. or paint the wood dowels a bold color. you have the full wall there, add some art, or some shelving, some type of plants,,, This would be a cool paint treatment. they have those rollers that roll out the design in the paint. faux bois you may want to paint the vanity white, perhaps add some gold accents or, paint the vanity a green shade yes, even pink works w/the shower curtain!
