Small living room with an awkward layout and door opening in the room

Hello everyone! I cannot express The happiness I felt when I found this website.

I have a very small living room with an awkward layout and a door opening in the middle of the room. Behind the White closed door, there was an empty cupboard, which we now use for storing coats etc. I am looking to get rid of the rocking chair, as we do not use it at all. Unfortunately, I do not have a floor plan for this, not sure if you would be able to imagine it. (I'd like to apologise for the mess)

I am in real need of some help (and I hope someone can help), if any of you have any ideas I would be grateful for ever!

Can the loveseat by the front door replace the chair, creating an L shaped seating area? If you can move the coffee table in front of the other loveseat, I wonder if you'll have a clear pathway from the front door to the closet to the hall (?) door.

Thank you Benjesbride. I didn't try that, as I was thinking to leave the window wall empty. But I think that yours would be a better idea. I will definitely try that.

Your home is just so lovely, I don't think you should remove all that architectural detail. What are the dimensions of the laundry room? I'm wondering if there is opportunity to turn that into an efficient office space (not legal bedroom.) Maybe you could leave the living room and dining room alone and put that part of the budget into an efficient shower bathroom with stackable laundry so the laundry can become office space or guest space if there's room for even a daybed?

I will look to see if I have a floor plan, but if not, how would i go about creating one for you. I know I sound like an idiot but obviously I am clueless as to this kind of stuff and wish my husband would just let me hire a decorator lol! However, he just now gave me another big fat NO to hiring one lol! So needless to say, I am going to have to learn how to do this on my own and asking for help, however annoying I may be, is the only thing I know to do! So I apologize in advance for my ignorance! Honestly, don’t waste your time and money on this apartment. Anything you add will be on your $ and with 3 dogs and a temporary room mate, I wouldn’t invest in anything.

I like your rearrangement. Now for suggestions.....The coffee table is too big. I would like to see a round ottoman there. I would put your little mirrors around the bookcase...three to each side. Get a end table with lamp for the end of your couch nearest the dining room. Maybe a tall plant on the other end of your couch. To soften the room, if you want to, I would get some sheer curtains for the windows Also I would pull your sectional out away from the windows...looks sort of shoved in. Pretty dogs.
