I wouldn't want to be without my laundry sink. I use it for all sorts of things such as hand washing oven racks, cookie racks & sheets, large vases or anything too big for the dishwasher and kitchen sink. Hand washables, "dirty work" such as repotting plants or making hanging baskets of flowers; cutting greens & flowers for arrangements. For big holiday turkeys, I line a five gallon bucket with foil , fill it with water & seasonings and add the frozen turkey the night before it is to be roasted. I put something heavy on top of the turkey to make sure it stays submerged. The next day I drain, dry & season the turkey and pop it in the oven for the most tender, moist yet nicely browned turkey ever. I have washable furnace filters that get washed in the laundry sink too. Ofcourse, there's always paint brushes, etc as well. Oh, I also use it to soak plants that have dried out too much.

so i called lowes and mentioned the scratch and they offered me 15% off or a new machine. i took the 15% off...i don't know if they could have even ordered another one for me but i def wasn't going through another delivery process just bec of a scratch on the machine. i'm very happy with the 15% off. then i called the 3rd party delivery co's guy i had been dealing with all along...(way back i asked abt compensation for the hassle from lowes they said its the delivery company's responsibility so at the time i asked this guy i was dealing with and he said he def would be giving me something.) so i called and asked for compensation he said he'll get back to me...that he has to speak to lowes etc so i mentioned that i got the 15% from lowes for the scratch bec i never mentioned the scratch to him so i didnt' want him to be confused. and told him that when i asked lowes abt compensation for the hassle they said the delivery co is responsible. anyway he called back and offered $75 in lowes gift cards. I tried saying its so little, i'm getting that much back for a scratch and this was a huge hassle and totally avoidable had the delivery guys not dumped the machine and ran...if they would've just read the instructions they could have done it properly, and then on top of it they lost the feet etc that it was not a mistake, it was laziness and negligence etc...but he still said all he can do was $75 so i said fine... lol so assuming the above comes through it will cost me $356! still would not want the hassle of the feet, not worth the aggravation but the scratch is prob worth it ;) on a side note, when i called the delivery guy i've been dealing with extensivley, i introduced myself saying "hi, i'm the lady with the rubber feet" haha

Maybe somebody else will suggest draining the washer into a bucket -- after all, FL washers don't much use water, do they? Okay, I'm better now. Have I maybe made this seem way more complicated that it needs to be?. Here is how simple it is: there is no problem draining the washer if a washer's pumps are too weak to reach up to the standpipe in my basement. My basement already has a Saniflo watewater pump. It is designed specifically for laundry plumbing located in basements with drains below the grade of the sewer outflow line. (These are a standard plumbing practice, too.) The problem is how do I get from a new washer's drain over to the drain pump? Can I just extend the flexible drain hose to hook onto the laundry sink (which the Saniflow pump handles) Or, must I go to the time and expense and hassle of plumbing in new rigid piping for a drain line that will run from the wall behind the washer over to the inlet plumbing for the pump?. Extending the drain hose is far cheaper and easier. Miele had no problem with this, although they would like me to pay them $28 plus shipping to get one of their beautiful (if highly over-engineered) hose extensions. Maybe it would be easier to grasp if I rephrased my question --- was I just getting the corporate run-around from customer service at Bosch and Elctrolux because I asked a question that was not in their scripts?

I have definitely thought about that option Here are some considerations 1. Husband HATES pocket doors, especially for bathrooms. 2. I am trying to have all doors 32 inches wide if possible from the end of hallway to trim that is about 38 inches. I'd go down to 28inches at the smallest, for 34 inches total with trim 3. The hallway wall measures 76 inches 4. The walls are 4.5" deep, leaving 71.5 inches in the hallway. 5. We prefer vanity countertop 22 inches deep. So that leaves us with a closet depth of 11.5-15.5 inches. We could maybe get 18 if we went with a 19.5 vanity
