Help with Facebook page!
Comments (5)Basically that's what I did - first set up the account with Briarwoods Farm name as I said above, using farm email. Then changed the name to my maiden name but kept the farm email, didn't give my personal email. I found that even when it said I was posting, commenting and liking as Briarwoods Farm page rather than as Sheila, I really wasn't. In order for my "likes" to be shown on the farm page, I had to go to pulldown menu all the way to the top right of page and set it to "Use Facebook as" Briarwoods Farm. Spent the morning trying to figure out how to set up a site on Weebly. That's even harder. Plus the name was taken so I had to add "CT" to the end - but the www.briarwoodsfarm.weebly.com site is a placeholder, no content (not even contact) so I don't know if that was something I had experimented with a year or so ago (not realizing it was Published). Don't know email address (probably farm) or password I would have used though. Guess I can contact weebly to find out what the email address was to see if it's mine or someone else's. I think I'm going to ask my teenager to set up website for me - he's acted as webmaster for Scouts so hopefully he can figure out weebly and get a good page design. I just want a home page and a blog for now. But he doesn't do Facebook (I think he opened an account just to see track/cross-country schedule) so can't help with that....See MoreFather posts a video response on Facebook to teen's ugly tirade
Comments (58)I have refrained from commenting because I do not have children, (1 stepdaughter) but I think what he did deserves a little praise. I read the link that Wildchild provided above and he sounds to me like a pretty great dad. His methods may not suit all, but he obviously knows his kid and what works with her. He has repeatedly made his comments and replies strictly through his facebook page. He has turned down many, many requests for interviews because he 1. does not want him or his daughter to profit in any way from this. And 2. Wants his words to remain his...not be edited to say something twisted. I clearly remember some pretty harsh punishment when I was a belligerent teen. I was never physically disciplined, but I remember as if it was yesterday how mad my father was and I never wanted to cross that line again...and never did. I love my father dearly as I know he loves me. I survived and grew to have a much deeper respect for parenting. (he and Mom raised 6 girls!) I think this man may have acted a little irrational, shooting her computer but certainly turned it into a teachable moment. I dont care if it could have been donated or not...it was their property, their punishment. I applaud him for the act of following through with his discipline. ( I think this is where many drop the ball and kids know it) He and his daughter I believe have bonded over this experience. As he mentioned...she will never again doubt his commitment to following through on doing what he says he will do. (good or bad)...See MoreSo who has a facebook account?
Comments (16)I too have a Facebook account...I really enjoy it! Long lost friends have been able to find me as well as relatives that otherwise may not have. Some of the friends found me thru a "Classmates" site....high school days from the 70's,so maybe that is how your friend found you,Wanda, only thru the hobby account...anywhere that your email address may be,ppl that use Facebook can make a connection. Go to your Facebook acct., click on "home" in the top right corner of that first page...that gives you the news updates on the list of friends that you have..you will have a list, given time.(I will send a connection to you thru my Facebook once I am thru here, just so you can get a little start) You can then view my page,AFTER you accept me as a friend..thats the thing with Facebook, should anyone that you do not know try to connect with you,you do not have to accept. Once you are in my page, you can see any and everything that I have on it. As far as what you put on your Face acct., that is entirely up to you...it IS a little confusing at first, but so are most forums or sites that are new to us. Another little word of advice,if you have Mozilla/Firefox,Facebook wil work better..without it,it can be slow and even more confusing only because it works more like plain old dial up. Watch for a new email that tells you that someone has invited you to Facebook Wanda..that will be me! Above all, have fun!...See MoreFacebook
Comments (47)Well, Glenda if you ever want to join the party :-), just follow the link to my Facebook acct that I posted at the beginning of this string and click on Add as Friend on the right side of the window. You will be walked through setting up a FB acct and will be on your way to Wildtown KTUSA. :-) Well, it appears I'm not the only one struggling with the new FB format, I just found a link that is called Take me back to old Facebook, or something similar. Wooo Whooo, much better! Jodi-...See Moreraee_gw zone 5b-6a Ohio
