HELP! Need suggestions on exterior paint colors please.
Comments (2)The flat trim board under your windows will cause leaks if it was not flashed properly or if the sill nosing doesn't project and overhang enough for an effective drip (in the traditional manner). Sealant/caulk at that joint is only temporary. I've seen this detail cost owners a lot of money so make sure your contractor knows what he's doing. One solution is to add a projecting PVC sill nosing in place of the flat trim. It's difficult to beat the traditional double-hung window sill design. Comments (15)I love the SW colors, I actually dont own the BM color stick but I almost think I need to get one. If you like Blonde and Restrained Gold, which are beautiful but definately colors with lots of color, try two of my favorite color sticks which are several steps down from what you were looking at. They are from the old SW color deck. One stick has browner gold tones.... Raffia Basket and Sesame are on it, the other is a little more gold and has the names Dromedary camel and Autumn Blonde on it. My neighbor borrowed my decks so I dont have them to check which numbers they are....See MoreHelp with paint color suggestions please
Comments (20)I would begin with a new area rug that has colors and patterns to wake up this very colorless space. Find something you really love, with colors that make you happy, and make it larger than what you have so that it has impact. It should be a thin rug that looks right over the carpet you have. Find colorful pillows that work well with the rug. Since you have a wooden coffee table, find end table made of metal and glass and position them next to the couch, with lamps that are large enough to give adequate light to this space. Look for large pieces of art that make you feel something, not just something that will "look good". Have books and plants in the room to furnish it and give it personality. Your home should reflect who you are and what you love, and not just follow rules of what looks "right". If you love what you have and it reflects your taste and personality it will look very much better than just "right"....See MorePlease help with paint color for ceiling and walls. North/south facing
Comments (2)Looks like a charming home. If it faces south then look for cool colors. If north, then warm colors. I like a light blue for the ceiling. But the ceiling looks busy now with the small strapping. Could you sheet rock it to fill in between the beams? I would get more substantial drapery treatments. The sconces look too small; need taller ones. Move the furniture around for more functionality. Too many lamps. How about an area rug?...See Moresuezbell
