Paint color suggestions please
Comments (4)We used a paint color called "Cafe" and it is very nice brown. The brand is Devine. I will post a pic but apologize to those who have seen it several times before. It is a warm brown and really makes our cream cabinets stand out as you said. HTH...See MorePaint color suggestions please?
Comments (10)you have sharper contrast going on in your (very pretty) kitchen, and very mild contrast if at all in your living in order to repaint you need somehow to bring a bit of that sharper contrast in your living as well, or else the space will feel disjointed Frankly I'd do it even if I wasn't going to repaint you have very dark strong green plus black plus white in the kitchen..plus beautiful wood in the living though you have various browns as in the wood only you need to borrow some of the other colors from the kitchen for your living. Not necessarily to match them precisely, and doesn't have to be lot, but yes to more green in the living..and to a bit of black..and to maybe something patterned (it's harder to do vise versa since your kitchen has more or less permanent materials that already work very well together, and your living is much more flexible to bring the small changes in. Can be pillows, throws, rug, art, plant..all of the above then, whether you leave it current color, or go for a deeper color (I envision variations on what you already have in your kitchen..shades of blue green? beautiful tan, but you know with minimum yellow-lighter variation of your wood? grayish off white-hint on your black? you also need to take into account your ceiling, I can see it's this triangle shape, and i can't see the height..sometimes you need to be more mindful of the contrast that darker paint will create with the ceiling, especially if the ceiling has more character. It doesn't mean you can't choose deeper color but it does mean you need to consider how it will look next to your ceiling, and maybe take a paint, or milder variation of it, to your ceiling too. really depends on the height, the light, and many other things. So if I go by order of things..first I'd go with what lukkirish suggested..introducing some things into living in the kitchen. I'd just take some things away. whatever you don't need. even if to see it better, in terms of the future color choice then I'd see the emerging pattern for that new wall color, if you'll still want it by then...See MorePlease help Paint suggestions to go with existing roof color!!
Comments (2)I think the gray suggested would be good or a tan. Don't paint the brick, but it could use a good washing. Remove the ill-fitting shutters. Get rid of the Victorian door. Have an arborist look at the tree in the front. It seem it could use a good pruning. Good luck bringing this house back to life!...See MorePlease help me with decor or suggest a new paint color??
Comments (3)You're right, the pink is not working with the cabinet. I think another shade of pink would work if you still want to go down that road. Otherwise, I think the previous poster is right - a white with a gray undertone would be nice. It looks like your cabinet is a warm white, but I can't be sure since the pink is probably effecting its appearance. If it is warm, be sure to choose a warm white. You will have to choose some color for an undertone because you'll never be able to match the cabinet exactly and if you're off just a little bit it will be as bad as the current color. If you like Benjamin Moore instead of SW (everyone has their preference), I would try Ballet White, Seapearl, Classic Gray or Gray Mist. Maybe invest in a sample can first before repainting the whole room....See Morebuckyknight
