Our Lowes kitchen + need help w/ lighting ideas
Comments (12)Hi maybeiloveyou, I didn't answer your question. My initial response would have been to install bronze light fixtures. However, since you have the stainless hardware, I'd probably stick with a stainless look light fixture. I'm also looking at the Shenandoah cabinets. Depending on the layout I choose I'll have between 12 and 14 cabinets total. I chose the Mission cabinets in Cherry Bordeaux and that quote was just under (a few dollars) $8,000. Maybe I'm being "hosed" by my KD? Did you guys go with the all plywood sides upgrade? Do you have oven cabinets or pantry cabinets? I'm just trying to figure out why my quote is so high. Maybe I should visit another Lowes for a price comparison....See MoreNeed help picking our Kitchen chair- new kitch pics attached
Comments (16)Crescent- Absolutly- The set is by Canadel. Go to Dinette Set LTD (521 Bustleton Pike Feasterville, PA-- Phone 215-322-4260) Owners name is Russell. He is FABULOUS! I had bought a table there years ago and once again he proved that my 50 minute drive was well worth it-- He was WELL below the competitors. He is a family owned business. From the outside the store doesn't look like much but inside he's got a great selection and he is super helpful. If you are going i would suggest booking an appt time with him so you get his full attension. He was so helpful with us. We even ordered stools that are Oil Rubbed Bronze look and it did have some wood on the top. I was very conserned b/c i didn't like the wood color. He said if i paid for the stain ($40)--- he would order it from Canadel and send it tot he stool company and they would use that stain on the stools... how cool is that. Great customer service!! Good luck and THANK YOU EVERYONE-- we revised the order today and we are going with the dark brown chairs (that have trully grown on me as something different--) I think i chose the other one b/c it was "safe" lol.... and i've been risky up to now so why change that!! lol (ie granite, caesarstone, and 2 different colored cabients) lots of risk- i was looking for the easy way out!...See MoreNeed help in our Kitchen

Comments (21)Pleasant room. Like the large windows and all that natural light. Like the coffee table. As for art for the walls, including for the space above the fireplace, don't just rush to put something/anything up to cover a bare spot. Take your time and find something that reflects your personal interests. Found this: http://eco2017.info/art-above-fireplace/art-above-fireplace-above-fireplace-decor-fireplace-wall-decor-above-fireplace-mantel-large-wall-decor-above-decorative-fireplace-logs-above-fireplace-fireplace-clipart-black-and-white/ You might consider going bold for a mantel: https://www.pinterest.com/pin/207728601543366287/?lp=true Not a great fan of your floor lamp styles, both are likely to produce glare … though a different bulb might help. Like this: http://adventurousmom.me/floor-lamp-and-table-combination/excellent-idea-floor-lamp-and-table-combination-combo-fresh-furniture/ You should at least consider end tables with tall thin lamps with white shades. You could even use upscale wood two drawer filing cabinets as end tables and have them do double duty -- or the three drawer (a shallow top drawer) -- and many have locks to discourage snooping guests from seeing personal items or all those paid bills you're saving for your tax records. The deep file drawers can also store photo albums and/or hats and/or purses -- things other than files -- so they make good bedside tables as well. Note: I truly loathe the drapes-sloppily-dragging-the-floor fad. Consider raising them so the hems are less than an inch above the floor....See MoreJason
