Color ideas for a house with red brick accents or covering brick?

Hello! I'm finally replacing the old wooden siding with stucco on this house. Right now the plan is to cover only the wooden walls but leave all the red brick in place, replace the front door, and add 2 cedar pillars by the entrance. I'm struggling with the color ideas, right now I'm thinking soft white or sage green but I don't know about trim.... I'm concerned the white will look a little pink from the red rock landscaping. I'm also wondering if I should cover the brick with stucco or leave it. Please help :)

Is the siding currently only on the front of the house? What made you decide to go with stucco instead of more siding?

The pictures above show the front of the house after we removed the old siding. It looks like that on all the sides. We are going with the stucco because we got a great quote and the installers will add additional insulation, and also because it's fireproof and has no maintenance.

wow thank you all for the suggestions! you all far exceeded my expectations, I like the idea of a darker grey or even a brownish colors. im amazed by how much better it looks without the shutters! those are deffinitly going. I 100% agree with the removal of the evergreen because i already remover it last year lol this is a old picture from Google maps. but everything is the same other than the tall green tree in the middle of the house. would I paint my door the same color as the paneling? and as far as the garage side goes to i replace the tan color with the same as the rest of the house?

"This front is just a mess." That is your first impression. I suggest you live with it for a few months before doing anything. Surely you will change it, but you don't yet know what it's like to live with the existing garden. The experience of it may shift your understanding slightly. mad_gallica said "you have Sun Ra but you want Bach" -- maybe. But maybe you don't know what you have or what you want. Give it time to sink in. What's the rush. No film crew coming, is there? There are philosophies that result in what someone has carefully planned and built in what is now your front garden. It may not be your philosophy, and that's fine, but just "try it on" and spend some time in those "clothes." Then you will come to know not only what you don't want, but you will know WHY and you may even know what you DO want, and why. I don't see it as a maze, but someone in a big hurry undoubtedly sees it that way. In some gardens, indirect paths or spirals are made for meditation or for giving the inhabitant a few extra seconds in the day to smell the roses, or in other words, to appreciate the peaceful feeling a walk through greenery can bring. With combined families, whose garden is it, anyway? ;) Last comment -- when entering the house, you may find you never use the front door, but enter through the garage. If you entertain a lot, a meditation front garden may not be quite the thing. But don't be too hasty. Live with it for a time.

Hi Anna, I appreciate your input. I'm starting to lean toward the mortar color too. Another problem with the rustic brick color, that I forgot to mention, is that not only do I have red accents on the house, but I've got traditional barn red painted garage, barn and outbuildings all over the property, even my fence gates are painted red. I'd have three different shades of red! I don't think I should attempt that.

Start with power washing the house, especially the roof, which takes up a large amount of visual space. The overall initial color impession is browns and reds. That's why your shed really doesn't blend well with the house. IMO, embrace your brown roof and the reddish brick and not try to go gray/blue. A light sage green might be a great compromise for trim. I wouldn't put shutters up at all. They don't particularly suit the house and it would save you some time and money to remove them. Paint the shed the same color as the trim you choose. As budget allows, get a landscape designer to plan extended garden beds in front to showcase your house with a mix of perennial grasses, shrubs, and flowering plants. That will do more for your house than the shutters and give you more visual pleasure.

Glad to hear you are getting rid of those strange brick “sides” by the front floor and replacing with cedar posts! If you are updating, would you also consider a different front door? The oval glass door looks very dated to me. I’m from the Northeast, so no red rock landscapes around here…. Assume you are in area where red rock is more common. I would drive around and see what other people have for house paint color to get an idea of what works and doesn’t work with red rock.

Depends.

A full-length lattice over the door and windows. Are you keeping the remainder of the brick around the door itself?

Here are renders in Sage and in Charcoal Gray. You need to squint with my draw software lol.

These are not paint samples..just for concepts. The red represents some salvaged brick from the demo of the curved brick element.. The door is black with wood trim and some original brick for door trim.

Or beef up your awning AND add the lattice:
