After all of your planning and hard work, it's difficult when people are less enthusiastic about your project, even when you know every single flaw yourself! Posters need to be mindful of individual taste and geographical location. Certain remodels may not suit everyone's style, but that's why there's chocolate, vanilla and strawberry. I was just at the Tile Shop's site the other day looking at the Hampton tiles because someone was selling some on Craigslist. I am hoping to do as you did and get what I can cheaper there, and fill in the rest from the store. I can see that you worked very hard to secure all of your materials - and then cut the floor tiles to size and culled the Hampton tiles, too! No, I don't believe it needs another coat. You didn't need a primer and two coats is sufficient. I tested Coventry Gray for my husband's office and it looked very blueish gray to us too. When you did your test swatches, did you do two coats? I surround my test swatch with white copy paper so the existing wallcolor doesn't influence how it looks to my eye. I wouldn't think off-white would trick your eye though but maybe. I'm glad you like it. It's a pretty and popular shade.

And answer your question the original owners did repaint until 1960. My mom purchase home in 1982 she passed in 2014. We just moved back in three months ago. And my contractor painted he used McCormack paint sorry is spelling off. I wanted either use behr paint or lowes brand. So my plan lite sand over what he did then repaint.
