Partial power on a switched off light circuit. what could it be?

My front yard light sometimes is partially illuminated when it is switched off. The only thing I can think of is that somehow some partial voltage is bleeding into the ground. Weird thing is it's not all the time, I haven't been able to identify if it happens when some other thing is on. Also the wire to that light is buried and probably 60 years old, is it possible that it's corroded and leaking charge straight to the ground if the switch is wired backwards? how can i determine whats happening?
