What's for Supper?
Comments (13)Hosted 15 this evening. I made my grandmother's strudel, a turkish coffee cake, blue cheese dip with veggies, fruit, DG made hummous and a goat cheese spread, with pita. Fruit, soft drinks and juice, no alcohol. Dishes done now and floors clean. Tomorrow my son gets drafted, and family and friends turned out to wish him well (and stuff some cash into his pockets!). It's so hot here we try not to go outside after 11 am until it gets dark. The deck burns our feet. We eat a lot of cold cereal and salads these days, unless something's in danger of going bad, then we gotta cook it!...See MoreWhat's For Supper Sunday?
Comments (13)My sister gave me a mess of mullet, it was already cleaned and filleted too! So I fried that up with cheese grits, hush puppies and oven fried taters. I was actually shocked she called and offered me that mullet but I sure did appreciate it! It was sooooo good! Deb...See MoreIt's Supper Time on Sunday!
Comments (17)I've been making various salads all day, Sue. The kids are all coming tomorrow to celebrate DH's 80th birthday. Made broccoli salad, cole slaw, potato salad, three bean salad, ambrosia and pea salad. Since being sick in May, I do not have too much stamina so I had to take many breaks. Tonight we had shrimp pasta salad with 3 bean salad and corn muffins. Still have to make a cake for tomorrow. Just taking a little another break. Glad you have your computer up and running....See MoreWhat's for supper.....Wednesday?
Comments (8)Tonight, DH made beef stroganoff in the crockpot and it was delicious! Enough left over for tomorrow's dinner. I've been trying to avoid carbs, but to go with the stroganoff, I sauteed some garlic in butter and tossed together with some cooked vermicelli. I've been trying to avoid desserts too and since it's Friday, for dessert I had ice cream with crushed coconut cookies and a few sprinkles of skor bits. It was all extremely yummy!...See Moregardengal48 (PNW Z8/9)
