Supper Time on Sunday
Comments (18)We had scalloped potatoes, sauteed cabbage and onions then apple juice to deglaze the pan. I like making stuffed pork chops, but they aren't stuffed. I make stuffing, and tie two boneless pork chops with the stuffing between them. I bought a package of 10 apple juice tetra-paks for $1.50 and wanted to use up some apple juice, so I put some in the cabbage. Dinner was good!...See MoreWhat Did You Have For Sunday Dinner/Supper? pic
Comments (15)Yum! That looks delicious. We had our extended family get-together at my house yesterday, so the menu was (sorry, didn't take any photos): Appetizers: everyone brought something so we had a huge assortment--hot cheese dip, cold cheeses, shrimp cocktail, raisin bread, green onions wrapped with cream cheese and dried beef, etc Dinner was: Chicken breasts with a topping of cranberries, apples, onions, rosemary and brie; roasted herbed potatoes, corn, applesauce, rolls (and I totally forgot to put out the beautiful tomato and fresh mozzarella salad dd brought--darn--and it looked delicious--of course, she didn't notice my mistake until it was too late!) Dessert: Butterscotch peanut butter rice krispie treats, raspberry white chocolate cheesecake squares, assorted cupcakes. Not to mention, bowls of candy and cookies that I had stashed all over the house, and that were thoroughly enjoyed, from the looks of them when everyone left! Nice day--we had a good time. Been a while since we were ALL able to get together....See MoreSupper Time on Friday!
Comments (13)We still had some ham left over from Sunday dinner. I'd made a yummy soup with some of it a few days ago, so tonight I decided to make ham, cheese, and egg biscuits, and my DD cut up some veggies. I used the rough puff method of mixing the biscuit dough--they came out crispy and layered and really good. I julienned the ham and warmed it in the skillet after I cooked the eggs, mounded it on top of the egg, covered with cheddar cheese, and put them back in the warm oven until the cheese was soft. If you've never made biscuits that way, I recommend it!...See MoreWhat;s For Supper on Sunday!
Comments (25)Okay -- cooking for one. I just put all this in one skillet: 1 sautee onions, a little red pepper, some steamed cubed butternut squash, some soaked white beans, salt and when all was kind of done, threw some raw baby kale & sliced grape tomatoes on top and put the lid on. Meanwhile -- 3 eggs with a teeny bit of milk, turmeric powder & pepper, mixed up and on low fire a la scrambled. When it was cooked I put it on top of the skillet stuff and then put it all in a bowl and ate alone. It was just everything I had in the refrigerator. I wish I could practice on some company dish -- a real dish. I found this very good but would I serve it to anybody? I feel very challenged about cooking for friends and I have done it often....See MorePKponder TX Z7B
