What Did You Have For Sunday Dinner/Supper? pic

I made lasagna and homemade French bread! It was my first attemp at the bread, and if I can say so...it was WONDERFUL!!!! I was so impressed with the first try!

So....what was on your plate this evening?

Nothing, so far. But I'm holding a plate towards my 'puter screen.... did you have any leftovers you can share???

We grilled pork chops and had Mac & Cheese(The Blue Box!) it was nice here today so Larry wanted to grill.That Lasagna and bread looks better though! I haven't made lasagna in years!

rhizo, you're having the identical dinner we had last night. Somehow we were both in the mood for a steak an DH roasted potatoes in the open garage doorway on the gas grill (it was raining) and cooked the steak. A nice treat for both of us. I had some powdered au jus and made some, sliced some strawberries too for a side. Today I breaded three limits of razor clams, and those too went out to the garage. Table, electric skillet, no frying odors in the house. Again in the open doorway because its still raining. Two friends stopped and picked some up, DH took a platter to his sister and her husband. We'll have whats left with -- another coincidence, Panera broccoli cheese soup! I really love that soup and a rainy day is perfect for it. There was one more limit clams and I took 1/2 those raw to a former elderly neighbor who prefers to cook her own (and can't dig them any more, DH keeps her supplied), kept the other half here and I will grind those and make clam patties and French fries tomorrow night. In my kitchen, I'll fry patties in my kitchen, just not breaded clams ;)

Oh my, some setiously delicious dinners around the kitchen table tonight! I love chicken fried steak with gravy....I should make it soon, Robert would be soooo happy. Betsy, tell me about the carrot slaw. Sounds like something that I would like. Jasdip, everything sounds wonderful. Isn't that dressing fabulous? I've got some ribs thawing for us to fix tomorrow. Love the sound of yours. Raven, your evening sounds like so much fun and a treat, as well. I love a good gumbo and I have a feeling that yours is some of the best. I've never had boudin. I think I might be afraid of it, lol. Oh, yummy....turkey! One of my all time favorites! I can smell it now. Angelaid, at least you had a back up plan. That shrimp creole sounds awfully good, though. I'll bet we know what you'll be having tomorrow!

We're getting ready for our 21 year-old granddaughter's visit. She flies in Saturday morning and we'll pick her up in Orlando. She's just a sweetheart and I haven't had her all by herself since they moved from Florida when she was 3 or 4. Guest room is ready and just need to do some last minute clean-up. I'm so excited!! She's a great photographer and takes all the pictures for her college yearbook. She made me a Mother's Day card which was a collage of nature photos she'd taken. She's going to give me lessons while she's here so I can post pictures. Paid bills, made out a grocery list and a list for Wal-Mart. Did the ususal daily stuff--pick up, make the bed, etc. Dinner tonight is a chicken breast that's in the crockpot right now with a tarragon mustard sauce. We'll have that with rice and DH's favorite--peas. Still have picnic cake. I should have brought it to the KT!!

Fun family Annie! I need to try ann_t's meat tort. I say that every year but it is on my list. We had some failures. Christmas day was dysfunctional family day. No one told me family was waiting...when we walked in and trying to settle after a long drive...yikes. I was hounded trying to un-pack...did not know so many people were there. And a sit down dinner was waiting. I had prepped so many sides but this and that niece and nephew had to eat by 5 and sister wanted all to be perfect...they started digging into my cheese and treat platters before i could pee. Horrible meal. I gave up and had a glass of wine. I had 6 cheeses and olives and ghost pepper salami and salmon charcuterie all prepped to platter but they dove into the containers before i could plate them...savages. My homemade flatbread was still in the truck yet to be unloaded. : ) (thought it was to be a quiet evening with my parents)...prep and eat around 7. My mother, now 86, tried to make a traditional turkey meal but it was so unnecessary. She cooks blonde. (not hair). Just safe and under done. The turkey was started 5am like the ye-olden days, Dressing bland and not baked fully, gravy white and floury. Sweet potatoes boiled in water to death. She stressed knowing i was on my way not knowing family showed up and waiting...(my sister that does not cook and expected miracles). The turkey sat 3 hours covered. How do they not know safe temp as i have taught them for years!? . I had all the fixings prepped to go into the oven but they were done well after all the family left. (did not know the extra family were even to be there). Family that does not cook and thinks those of us that do should provide for all. Grrr. "Almost forgot- Christmas apps were amazing! Crab cakes, mini lobster quesadillas, shaved filet mignon crostini and mini sliders." Yum! We had better successes the following days. : ) The best oyster stew ever. Finally perfected that one. Then oyster fritters for breakfast this morning...

We just had hot turkey sandwiches and other leftovers. Didn't look as good as yours.

I made Pizza Burgers and we had potato chips. Leftover pecan pie for dessert.

Our neighbor, Gary, had 10 of us over for a Christmas party--We had ham, meat balls, green beans, lipton taters, pasta salad, culiflower salad, etc all kinds of desserts! YUMMIE

Now why didn't I think of making a lasagna! My sister is staying for a couple of days so I made us a huge salad with some turkey and lots of other veggies and fruit. I also heated up some frozen samosas to go with the salad.

I think I will make that lasagna for New Years.

Yum! That looks delicious.

We had our extended family get-together at my house yesterday, so the menu was (sorry, didn't take any photos):

Appetizers: everyone brought something so we had a huge assortment--hot cheese dip, cold cheeses, shrimp cocktail, raisin bread, green onions wrapped with cream cheese and dried beef, etc

Dinner was: Chicken breasts with a topping of cranberries, apples, onions, rosemary and brie; roasted herbed potatoes, corn, applesauce, rolls (and I totally forgot to put out the beautiful tomato and fresh mozzarella salad dd brought--darn--and it looked delicious--of course, she didn't notice my mistake until it was too late!)

Dessert: Butterscotch peanut butter rice krispie treats, raspberry white chocolate cheesecake squares, assorted cupcakes.

Not to mention, bowls of candy and cookies that I had stashed all over the house, and that were thoroughly enjoyed, from the looks of them when everyone left!

Nice day--we had a good time. Been a while since we were ALL able to get together.

Oh my, that lasagna looks good....
I hate to tell you but DH had ham (again) and I ate a bowl of Middleswarth BBQ chips.....And I wonder why I can't get rid of this weight!

We had baked pork chops with
apple placed on each one,
potatoes, vegies and salad.
Strawberry shortcake for dessert.

Both your lasagna and bread look delicious! DH went to Sonic..... i cheated on the low carb diet, and had a cheeseburger. it was good. :)

so tonight it is a big Salad and French Onion soup.
