What Did You Have For Sunday Dinner/Supper? pic

I made lasagna and homemade French bread! It was my first attemp at the bread, and if I can say so...it was WONDERFUL!!!! I was so impressed with the first try!

So....what was on your plate this evening?

Nothing, so far. But I'm holding a plate towards my 'puter screen.... did you have any leftovers you can share???

We grilled pork chops and had Mac & Cheese(The Blue Box!) it was nice here today so Larry wanted to grill.That Lasagna and bread looks better though! I haven't made lasagna in years!

We had a teeny cute-as-a-button gas barbecue. I can cook anything on the stove but can't bbq worth a crap. Hubby tends to over-cook things on it as well. We didn't get the use out of it that we could, (going up and down 3 flights of stairs etc). I sold it on Kijiji last week. We've been looking for an indoor grill and reversible griddle, but the styles have now changed. They're all the George Foreman style, which I don't want. On a whim, I posted a request on Freecycle and lo and behold, someone had one!! They downsized and gave me theirs. In mint, new condition. So we used it last nite for the first time and we love it! We have an outlet out on the balcony, and sat out there with the grill. Grilled chicken breasts, and I pre-cooked sliced potatoes in the microwave and finished them on the grill. Nice seasonings and grill marks. We finished the carrot and pineapple slaw. It was delicious and we're happy,happy. This post was edited by jasdip on Sun, May 25, 14 at 11:18

My sister gave me a mess of mullet, it was already cleaned and filleted too! So I fried that up with cheese grits, hush puppies and oven fried taters. I was actually shocked she called and offered me that mullet but I sure did appreciate it! It was sooooo good! Deb

I've been making various salads all day, Sue. The kids are all coming tomorrow to celebrate DH's 80th birthday. Made broccoli salad, cole slaw, potato salad, three bean salad, ambrosia and pea salad. Since being sick in May, I do not have too much stamina so I had to take many breaks. Tonight we had shrimp pasta salad with 3 bean salad and corn muffins. Still have to make a cake for tomorrow. Just taking a little another break. Glad you have your computer up and running.

Okay -- cooking for one. I just put all this in one skillet: 1 sautee onions, a little red pepper, some steamed cubed butternut squash, some soaked white beans, salt and when all was kind of done, threw some raw baby kale & sliced grape tomatoes on top and put the lid on. Meanwhile -- 3 eggs with a teeny bit of milk, turmeric powder & pepper, mixed up and on low fire a la scrambled. When it was cooked I put it on top of the skillet stuff and then put it all in a bowl and ate alone. It was just everything I had in the refrigerator. I wish I could practice on some company dish -- a real dish. I found this very good but would I serve it to anybody? I feel very challenged about cooking for friends and I have done it often.

We just had hot turkey sandwiches and other leftovers. Didn't look as good as yours.

Our neighbor, Gary, had 10 of us over for a Christmas party--We had ham, meat balls, green beans, lipton taters, pasta salad, culiflower salad, etc all kinds of desserts! YUMMIE

Now why didn't I think of making a lasagna! My sister is staying for a couple of days so I made us a huge salad with some turkey and lots of other veggies and fruit. I also heated up some frozen samosas to go with the salad.

I think I will make that lasagna for New Years.

Yum! That looks delicious.

We had our extended family get-together at my house yesterday, so the menu was (sorry, didn't take any photos):

Appetizers: everyone brought something so we had a huge assortment--hot cheese dip, cold cheeses, shrimp cocktail, raisin bread, green onions wrapped with cream cheese and dried beef, etc

Dinner was: Chicken breasts with a topping of cranberries, apples, onions, rosemary and brie; roasted herbed potatoes, corn, applesauce, rolls (and I totally forgot to put out the beautiful tomato and fresh mozzarella salad dd brought--darn--and it looked delicious--of course, she didn't notice my mistake until it was too late!)

Dessert: Butterscotch peanut butter rice krispie treats, raspberry white chocolate cheesecake squares, assorted cupcakes.

Not to mention, bowls of candy and cookies that I had stashed all over the house, and that were thoroughly enjoyed, from the looks of them when everyone left!

Nice day--we had a good time. Been a while since we were ALL able to get together.

Oh my, that lasagna looks good....
I hate to tell you but DH had ham (again) and I ate a bowl of Middleswarth BBQ chips.....And I wonder why I can't get rid of this weight!

We had baked pork chops with
apple placed on each one,
potatoes, vegies and salad.
Strawberry shortcake for dessert.

Both your lasagna and bread look delicious! DH went to Sonic..... i cheated on the low carb diet, and had a cheeseburger. it was good. :)

so tonight it is a big Salad and French Onion soup.
