What's For Supper Sunday?

I am thinking of just fixing bacon, lettuce and tomato sandwiches. I have some nice tomatoes from my garden. I will probably make up some iced tea and also have some of the leftover Banana Picnic Cake. Have the rest of you thought about what you are having?

I am having what you are I am coming over LOL!
I am not sure fixing to go to the grocery store but those sandwichs are on my list this week so maybe just have them tonight...
I am going to do some baking early early in the morning so we can have muffins and a cake this week....stacy

For supper we had creamy chicken soup and grilled cheese. Applesauce too.

Sis in law is making ice cream for DS today. A College send off and a good excuse to have the families together.

I'm marinating some steaks to grill for dinner, which I'm thinking will be late after all the mid afternoon sweets.
Potatos and corn on the grill sounds good with steaks. OH, it would be nice to find a big red tomato out on the plants out back. Crossing the fingers.

After slinging pry bars, hammers (I smashed my left index finger, it's HUGE!) and carrying out wood, plaster, bricks (that only smashed my arm once and cut my left ring finger), we ate stacked enchiladas. He'd made a roast with loads of garlic. It had a good flavor, but it was tough. So I boiled the meat, shredded it, and added seasonings to it. Corn tortilla, meat and a bit of cheese, topped with a corn tortilla slatered with beans, a bit of cheese, then topped with a corn tortilla, meat and loads of cheese. I hate the time change... except that the sun will stay up "later" now!

Costco chickens are brined (soaked in salty water or injected with same before cooking, i don't know which process they use) . That's why the end result is consistently "juicy". The liquid at the bottom of the container is more water than fat but it does seem to mix together and get gelatinous when cooled. The product's convenience and price are tempting but we stopped buying them when they had their episodes in our area of bacterial contamination and periodic undercooking in the stores. That's a bad combination for chicken.

We're getting ready for our 21 year-old granddaughter's visit. She flies in Saturday morning and we'll pick her up in Orlando. She's just a sweetheart and I haven't had her all by herself since they moved from Florida when she was 3 or 4. Guest room is ready and just need to do some last minute clean-up. I'm so excited!! She's a great photographer and takes all the pictures for her college yearbook. She made me a Mother's Day card which was a collage of nature photos she'd taken. She's going to give me lessons while she's here so I can post pictures. Paid bills, made out a grocery list and a list for Wal-Mart. Did the ususal daily stuff--pick up, make the bed, etc. Dinner tonight is a chicken breast that's in the crockpot right now with a tarragon mustard sauce. We'll have that with rice and DH's favorite--peas. Still have picnic cake. I should have brought it to the KT!!

We had scalloped potatoes, sauteed cabbage and onions then apple juice to deglaze the pan. I like making stuffed pork chops, but they aren't stuffed. I make stuffing, and tie two boneless pork chops with the stuffing between them. I bought a package of 10 apple juice tetra-paks for $1.50 and wanted to use up some apple juice, so I put some in the cabbage. Dinner was good!

Just wanted to say good luck with your son going off to college Toni....do better then I did....dang it just now even though I talked to her 2 days ago and she was happy I am sitting here tearing up what is wrong with me??????/ Stacy

I'm going through the same thing, Stacy. DS is moving out at the end of the week, right now he is gone to a cottage. I feel so sad about him leaving.

Oh, dinner! Chicken on the bbq, twice baked potatoes, sauteed cauliflower, corn on the cob and home made pound cake with strawberries for dessert.

Roast Beef, but not sure what else! Our son went to college, graduated in May and moved back home! I am secretly glad he is back! He'll be getting a place of his own when he can get on his feet.

Carne asada burritos and tortas. We get the best marinated skirt steak at a Mexican supermarket here. It is scrumptious. If I want to make sure DS is here for dinner...I have carne asada.

My sister gave me a mess of mullet, it was already cleaned and filleted too!

So I fried that up with cheese grits, hush puppies and oven fried taters. I was actually shocked she called and offered me that mullet but I sure did appreciate it! It was sooooo good!

Since we had some good tomatoes, we had BLTs and soup! No dessert was planned, but there is always some cookies or fresh fruit around here. :o)
