What's For Supper?

I am only fixing myself something for my supper tonight, but really don't feel like eating much, so it might just be some soup, not sure. What are all you folks thinking about fixing this evening?

No supper for me tonight, and DH is just going to have a salad before we go out to so some things.

Mom and I'll be going to ElBee's. A Mexican restuarant about 14 miles away. I'll be taking DGS home around 5:00 and it's just 4 miles down the road. AND they have the best margaritas. So, we'll order a liter of that, and some chips, salsa, and bean/cheese dip. Yummy. Only 2 more hours.

We're getting ready for our 21 year-old granddaughter's visit. She flies in Saturday morning and we'll pick her up in Orlando. She's just a sweetheart and I haven't had her all by herself since they moved from Florida when she was 3 or 4. Guest room is ready and just need to do some last minute clean-up. I'm so excited!! She's a great photographer and takes all the pictures for her college yearbook. She made me a Mother's Day card which was a collage of nature photos she'd taken. She's going to give me lessons while she's here so I can post pictures. Paid bills, made out a grocery list and a list for Wal-Mart. Did the ususal daily stuff--pick up, make the bed, etc. Dinner tonight is a chicken breast that's in the crockpot right now with a tarragon mustard sauce. We'll have that with rice and DH's favorite--peas. Still have picnic cake. I should have brought it to the KT!!

rhizo, do you mean that you sub'd sliced zucchini for the lasagna noodles, or that you added zucchini to the meat & cheese filling? either way sounds good. Quick dinner here too -- hot day, so I made tuna & pasta salad, sweet corn, and sliced tomatoes and zucchini.

Wow, what scrumptious sounding meals! Shirley, so nice to hear from you; I hope that you're doing well. I'm a fan of cabbage myself, no matter how it's prepared, including raw. That stuffed cabbage sounds good, I may have to dig out my recipe and make a batch before hot weather gets here. Your chicken sounds good, jazzy. Aren't you glad that you had some leftovers? Texas Gem, I haven't had a taco salad in years, but I used to eat them all the time. And loved them. What a great combination of flavors and textures! Oh Raven, I hope that you had a relaxing evening! You must be absolutely exhausted between all of the stressful traveling and family events. And the illnesses, oh my. Mor, I had to look up flageolet beans and I'm intrigued. Tell me what you like about them. Supper sounds so good. grainlady, as always, I'm in awe. I've often wondered what your kitchen must be like. I'm having blood drawn today and can't eat anything.....why the heck am I reading about this wonderful food? My tummy is growling like crazy, lol.

I know it is Tuesday but I am so excited about the Chicken Tortilla soup in the Crock Pot right now. Will deep fry some flour tortillas and have avocado and sour cream on top. Added black beans, corn and black olives. Have lime flavored rice, hominy and quinoa so everyone can choose what they want to eat it over or if they just want it as is. It smells so good and I am not even hungry. DH and I went out for Brunch before we voted. Last night we had grilled ham and cheese because I was feeling lazy.

Update on my supper! Cheryl is bring out some mac and cheese and sloppy joes for me. I am going to be watching their puppy KC for a few hours this evening. I am so tired of coughing.

Hot dogs, maybe I can find some leftovers to go with them. Last night I made a salad, lettuce with chopped hard-cooked eggs and swiss cheese, with creamy Italian dressing.

lasagna, my 7 y/o and I decided. It's his favorite.

And I guess I picked up a stray-- kid, that is. Teen boy, specifically. I assume he'll be eating here-- again. I know there are some here who survived the days of keeping teen boys fed, with an extra now and then. ;o) Yesterday I told the boy if I fed him again he was getting added to the chore list.

Once a month my sisters and I take fast food to the home where our sister Annie lives. We call it 'sisters night in'. I got one of the new McD's Angus burgers and was not impressed.

Stephanie, I had 4 brothers. My DM said she never fixed breakfast without counting the heads in the beds! :-)
