I'm just curious. If you don’t like a chosen book, do you not read it? If you happen to have read a chosen book, do you skip that book club meeting?

My take: I always read the book! Sometimes I have to give myself assignments to read this many pages per day in order to work through it.

At my last meeting, one member said she just couldn’t get into it and so stopped reading it. Life is too short to read a book she is not interested in.

At a different book club, a member never came if she had previously read the book.

My take: Why not still come? Isn't the idea of abook club to discuss the book with others?

This got me to thinking about what others here feel about their book clubs.
