Supper Time on Friday!
Comments (14)I had to go to the audiologist today. Traffic was too heavy to get home in a timely fashion so I stopped at the half way point and had steak and shrimp. It was a senior special. 6 oz. sirloin with 4 large fried shrimp. I had a salad and rice pilaf instead of potato. Broccoli, petite string beans baby carrots and zucchini was the vegetable. Iced tea and dessert (banana split ice cream) were included. Seagrass I love lamb but DH doesn't. I always have a three pack on hand for when we eat apart. It was my last night's dinner, broiled loin lamb chops and spinach ravioli for the side. A less than 15 minutes to prepare meal. Walmart of all places has a two pack of pre-seasoned (garlic and rosemary) lamb steaks that I also like once in a while....See MoreSupper Time on Friday!
Comments (4)Gadgets, I haven't made hard boiled eggs in a long time. Thanks for the reminder! Friday is typically date night for us, but with the torrential rains of the past 24 hours and flooding we're staying home. Dh had leftover Madras Curry and cuke salad for lunch. Dinner? There are more leftovers in the fridge or maybe I'll zap a couple of Amy's Veggie Lasagnas....See MoreSupper Time on Friday!
Comments (21)We were out of town running errands today, it was Costco day. Couple of other stops, when I'd planned for Friday earlier in the week I'd forgotten it would be Veterans Day and everyplace would be crowded and with sales. I'm not great with crowds ;0) and the lines to pay at Penney's were silly long but we did accomplish what we'd set out to do. Pulled off in a little town about halfway home to a Mexican restaurant we knew to be good, just had a very quick dinner there....See MoreSupper Time on Friday!
Comments (21)Cream of Wheat was one of the staples on our breakfast table as children in the snow belt of central NYS. That, and Cream of Rice, Wheatena, Maypo, Ralston hot cereal, oatmeal, MaltOmeal, and some sort of chocolate Cream of Wheat were often options on the table to help stoke the internal furnace before we headed out the door on a long walk to school. Yum...healthful comfort food. ANYway, it's cold here, too! I made Ina Garten's seafood chowder (more or less) for us last night with homemade stock, shrimp, scallops, and cod. My version is full of vegetables, too....so good. It's going to be colder today and I think that I might do chili in the slow cooker to eat on all afternoon. Maybe the sprites and my neighbor will want to come over for some fireplace time. The girls are getting much better about letting the adults chat together while they entertain themselves in our midst. I can clear the central coffee table and put out a new jigsaw puzzle for them....See More- 10 years ago
