I just bought and had installed a whirlpool side by side fridge the only on that would fit in my space. I waited 7.5 months to get it because I needed black , 2 days in the noise is driving me nuts it is the motor I can tell shuts off when either door opens . I locked the ice water dispenser on the door and it stopped but was that a fluke? but the others here want to use that feature. I looked into ways to sound proof the noise and will try that , like putting a rubber matt under it and sound proofing material behind it on the wall as what I have read the motor noise is in the air ( make sense who knows ) , the decibel reading , using a phone app, was 52 - 69 that was holding the phone in different places. I emailed my rep no response and now I know why they are all louder I think, I miss my 24 year old one ( except the way it was too cold inside who wants fresh frozen veggies ha ha ) why does this have to be very upsetting.

I stumbled across this one from a zillion years ago. When I was a kid a friends mom used to make this (or something very similar) and I have fond memories of it..... GROUND BEEF AND TATER CASSEROLE 1 lb. ground beef 1 (9 oz.) pkg. frozen cut green beans, cooked and drained 1 can (10 3/4 oz.) condensed tomato soup 1/4 c. water 1/2 tsp. salt 1/8 tsp. pepper 2 c. prepared mashed potatoes 1 c. (2.8 oz.) Durkee French Fried Onions 1/2 c. (2 oz.) shredded Cheddar cheese Brown beef in skillet, drain. Combine beef, green beans, soup, water, salt and pepper. Pour into a 1 1/2 quart casserole. Combine mashed potatoes and add 1/2 can French fried onions. Spoon potato mixture in a mounded ring around top outer edge of casserole. Bake uncovered at 350 degrees for 25 minutes. Top potatoes with cheese and remaining onions and bake 5 minutes longer.

To lazy to type it all out so I copied it from a web site... Directions Remove the plunger unit from the French Press. Warm the French Press and each cup with hot water if you wish. Be sure to discard the warming water before pouring the coffee. For each four-ounce cup of coffee grind 2 T (or one standard coffee scoop) of whole bean coffee. Dark roasted, oily beans are traditionally used. Use only coarsely ground coffee as fine grind (such as for expresso)coffee may clog the filter and create high pressure. We recommend Specialty Coffee from Costa Rica. Place the coffee in the bottom of the French Press. Be sure to discard the warming water if you used it. Add hot, not boiling water to the pot. Leave a minimum of one inch at the top. Stir gently. Place the plunger unit back on top of pot. Turn the lid to close off the pour spout opening. Do NOT press down at this point. Allow the coffee to brew for at least four minutes. Hold the pot handle firmly with the spout turned away from you. Use the weight of your hand to apply slight pressure on top of the knob and lower the plunger straight down into the pot. Lowering the plunger slowly with minimal pressure produces the best results. Do not use excessive force, which can cause scalding liquid to shoot out of the pot. Turn the lid open the pour spout and pour coffee. This recipe brought to you by CoffeeCakes.com.

writers, the innards of my Presto percolator are stainless . The only plastic parts are the base, the handle, and the little handle on the lid on top -- basically anything that touches the countertop or is grasped by human hands. I am scarred from years of watching my late father make coffee oh so very slowly with his Chemex. No-one else in the family was allowed to use it, wash it, or otherwise touch it. And he made only a very small amount -- one cup for himself, one cup for my mother, and when I was visiting half a mug for me. My mother said it made her feel like Oliver -- "please, sir, may I have some more?" She ended up resorting to Sanka lol.
