Dreadful rainy day here today. I went to grandson's cross country meet this morning. He beat his goal time, so he was happy. Makes me glad. I bundled up in rain boots, hat, sweatshirt, and waterproof parka. The park was a field of mud. The rain do not seem to bother the runners even though they wore only their team tanks and shorts for the race. The weather sure changed quickly- just last week I was at the pool with the kids.

Hubby and I made a run to Costco. Oops, just realized I forgot to pick up a case of water. Thinking ahead in case Irma becomes a problem here. All of humanity was at Costco as usual. I have a scratchy throat and burning in my nose, so I set up the diffuser and went to bed- not to sleep though- reading the forums and then I will read my novel for awhile. I stayed dry this morning, but I guess the sudden change of weather was enough to bring on a cold.

Tomorrow, if not down with a cold, I will visit my MIL who we just moved to a lovely assisted living nearby. She is 101, lived alone 200 miles from us. She is a bit confused about where she is, but not making a fuss. She is safe, fed, and cared for which was not the case recently. That's a story for another time.

I hope everyone enjoys the holiday weekend.

A cool day here. Had to dress warm for the annual art show in a nearby town. Talked my neighbor into going. She just lost her little dog of 14 years and is taking it hard.

Scott, How is the grading going? I am a retired English/Reading teacher at the middle school level.

I spent 6 hours with my grandson; fishing.

The doctor increased my meds dosage so I felt too drowsy today to get much done. I took a lower dosage this evening. I usually get up at 5 or 6 am; I find the early hours are best for grading. One's mind is uncluttered. So that is what I will do tomorrow. Along with laundry. I second the compliment to marylmi; losing a pet can be devastating (went through it in 2013 when my cat of 12 years THE HONEY died), and one needs support.

Happy I doubt todays weather brought on a cold since there's an incubation period for viruses....also maybe you should check your temp since a burning sensation in the nose often is caused from fever. I sure hope your not getting a cold, but your doing the best tonight by snuggling up in bed and resting.

Kaths its cold, drizzling here in Western Pa. Just to early for this cold and my RA hates it.

I did nothing special today outside of my daily tidying up. I did give the boys (8&9) a laundry lesson. Lol. They have their own wicker laundry hamper for school clothes only so today they learned how to wash synthetic fabrics which is mostly what their shorts are. They are turning into some pretty good laundry-masters.

Just checked in on the GoFund me pages, they are both close to the goals! What happens if it gets to the goal? Can people still send money or does it just cut off?

Happy2b, yes it is fun watching her travel on her own...well sorta on her own. On her own without me. A little worried but that's normal. Will really worry when they go hiking in Utah! Wow, your MIL is 102! That's amazing, glad she is somewhere safe.

We're packing and the dogs are locked in the bedroom :( Marabelle is a runner and will lead us a merry chase. The new house will have an extra gate to way lay her.

I am washing clothes. And we are cleaning the house. So far we have cleaned the porch, living room, dining room, and almost finished with our bedroom.

Both Marilyn and Raven have mail from me. I have been busy with their GFM pages. Boy, oh boy... so many thank you's to send....

There is no reason to quit contributing once the stated goal is reached. I had to put an amount in there... to get the ball rolling.

I guestimated amounts to buy a mobility chair, and on Marilyns page, to replace the pickups.

We want more than the total in there anyway... go fund me keeps their cut too.

Other than that, I bought stuff for on the bottom of Charlottes chairs, to keep from getting my floor scratched up, and a couple of shoe shelves.

Yes, Charlotte did move in here while I was gone. So far we get along famously. :)

I also visited with a girlfriend and showed her my crazyguy pages pictures. Ling's English isn't to good, and she could not figure out how to navigate there.

Well, it's getting close to bed time.... need to brush my teeth and get ready.

I worked until 9, but since I work from home I had no commute. My new schedule is 12 hours each on Saturday and Sunday. I get a three day weekend so the extra long days are worth it to me. We 'free-ranged' dinner tonight. I had Marie Calender's Sesame Chicken. Quick to microwave and yummy. Going to bed in a bit.
