At 7am this morning I dusted. Then @ 2pm there was an electronic alarm going off, shreaking, in the general area of the new internet linked thermostat. After calling the furnace company owner, he headed over. By then I'd figured out....that I'd hit an alarm button on a clock I'd dusted. lol Oops!

I would if I could...send the snow and or rain to everyone in dry areas. Been watching the fires out in Southern California tonight. Scary stuff, so many people and pets in danger. I hope all our California people here at the KT are doing okay. The air must be horrible.

So glad it's Friday. I have a huge project due March 2 and it's time to nail things down. I have a meeting with the big boss on Tuesday morning, I asked for it. It'll make me get my ducks in a row. I'd rather coast today, but it aint happening.

I know what I am not doing this weekend... anything outside. We're in the 20s and 30s. If we're really lucky, we'll see some 40s. Too cold! I think I'll bake instead. Monday is treat day for our lab. We each bring our treat(s) as a "pot luck" rather than grazing all month long. One day, and we might leave it out a couple of days. Maybe. Church also has a treat day along with carol singing, so I'll just make double. Some for each. If my boy is nice, I might let him have some of it. Nah, I'm kidding. He's always nice, so he's sure to have some.

He has breakfast with the other men (I can't believe he fits that group. Isn't he still little?) of the church tomorrow morning and exams next week, so he's brought it all down one notch. Not wearing his suits and sticking with the bare minimums for what "needs" to be done. He's coasting. We'll go pick up grow lights for my seedlings, the stuff for baking and probably actually get to talk unlike every other night this week. He's in AP classes, so it's study study study. He's exempt from two of his six exams. I'm surprised it's not more; it may be come Monday since there are grades missing in the grade books. once they enter them, his average is likely to be higher and that'll do it. I'm not saying he'll be exempt from university level chemistry, that's not happening. But probably US government, English, and Computer Science (his future major at university and the focus of his PhD). I'm glad one of us gets to coast today.

Ah, is it Saturday morning yet when all I have to do is, nothing! Come the end of the work day, and I pick up the boy, I'm done with "have tos" until 5AM Monday.

yeonnassky....sorry about your fender bender. Glad to hear your injuries are not worse. I hope a heat wrap & a neck massage is all you need. Gentle medicine. :0

Rob....I purchased these poppy seeds! I'm so excited!

I am still going to the house we are getting ready for our daughter to stay in for a couple or three weeks. They arrive later sometime today. Oldest daughter Cheryl and I will go up there before noon and do some last minute things. It is really looking nice for the short period of time we had to get it ready. Bed, night stands in place, chest of drawers, chairs, sofa, two recliners and all has been washed down top to bottom. There was no need to paint, it is nice. The carpets are cleaned and windows washed and new draperies are up. Kitchen cabinet has the basics in them and ovens cleaned and floors mopped. Many have really worked hard getting all of this together. I mostly watch and help a bit with what I can. They are much faster than I am. It is heated with a wood burning furnace and there is a month's worth of fire wood split and in the basement.

I have plans tomorrow afternoon to go to oldest great grandson's birthday at Pizza Shack. He was 4 recently. Looking forward to it all. I hope to rest on Sunday!

Nicole, that's cool! I can't say "I just bought these" about one set of seeds because, truth be told, the number of seeds I've just bought in the double digits. I didn't get any red or monarda, but I did get some poppies which are really pretty. The one about which I am most excited though? A pink cuphea ignea. I have never grown it, so that's why I picked it. It turns out, it's a hummingbird magnet, both the pink I got and the typical red you see, cigar plant

Rob...we planted Red Birds In A Tree last year. I also have never tried a cuphea. The Mexican Sage didn't come back and I've seen it grown locally.
