2017 Block Lotto at a Glance
Comments (21)Sue, no hurry, but please look at Oct again. The orientation of the top block and the bottom left are the same. I marked the three same square(s) in the photo with red dots ,,, the bottom left block is not like the other two. More importantly, I'm working on this block now and questioning whether or not the QA instructions are correct or maybe I'm just not getting it. "As is" it seems off balance to me. When I look at the QA photo on page 2, the secondary pattern doesn't look right to me (it looks like it is missing a few gold hst's)?! Then again, maybe that's what the quilt designer intended?! Regardless, this quilt is going to be stunning! My blocks are very "rich" looking....See More2017 - August Block Lotto
Comments (19)Congratulations Lois! A dear friend and former active forum member had similar surgery in February. Based on her feedback, I'd recommend also getting a coloring book for time spent while under an ice pack. Also pre-cut that fabric, cause standing and cutting was not an option! Good luck with surgery!...See MoreVeggie Tales - August 2017
Comments (229)Itsmce - hey whatever you gotta do to get the deed done! Isgen - that is a monster!!!! Is that a pink brandywine? Correct me if I'm wrong but I think it's the biggest we've seen on here this year (I might be wrong, did jack crack 2 lbs?) I have been working late all week so hadnt gotta to harvest in a while - so had a real nice haul tonight - big milestones were hit - up over 500 lbs total (523.36 to be exact but who's counting), and 300.08 lbs of tomatoes!!! Poblanos for days...See MoreWhat's the current kitchen styles for 2017?
Comments (18)great advice up thread when choosing different countertops/backsplash-mind your flooring since it's a big surface that won't change. reads warm to me..you also describe it as such for a fun global look I'd go with patterned backsplash(but much warmer in its pallette that the one you're posted), simple Quartz (no movement/minimal movement) that is a good support to backsplash in terms of color, and also works with the flooring.. Maybe you decide to go with some quirky knobs. Maybe you paint the island only. You can consider changing some cabinet doors for glass if displaying things is something you like, and you're not put off with the thought it needs to be tidy all the time. It's not a lot of storage, so consider that. Have fun with light fixtures..and your kitchen while small is not tiny or dark..you can just accessorize it to your liking with ceramics and a rug and towels and plants..it's a good enough background. If absolutely in love with marble look quartz-make sure it's not too cold a color next to your floor..and don't do patterned tiles. Go with simpler tiles then. Because one of these will steal the show anyway. Too much pattern for one small kitchen. And you'll have-probably-a lot of pattern in your accessories too. Maybe even in your hardware and/or lights. These don't have to be just this or that. Of course should stylistically relate to your other choices. say, can't see cheerful ceramic knobs next to Calacatta..different sensibilities Nothing matches much in my house too in terms of decor yet one is much more restricted when picking hard surfaces for kitchen etc....See MorePat Z5or6 SEMich
