I guess the two floor colors. We can't really judge the colors with the unfinished floor other than which ones we like better in and of themselves. So I vote for the warm ones! They seem to go well with your warm tile samples too. I'm not sure what backdrop means in the above photo. Move the loveseat down so its left arm meets the arm of the sofa and put a square table between them with a lamp on it. Then move the rocker to the corner where the loveseat is now. Angle the rocker a bit toward the centre of the room and make sure its forward enough that it's part of the conversation group. As long as your loveseat is 4-6" from the wall, your vent will be fine. By the way, how does anyone use that ottoman when it's so far from either couch? You can't comfortably reach a drink that you might put there and it's also too far to put your feet up on. I'd get rid of the ottoman and replace it with a rectangular coffee table that suits the scale of the room better.

Hi, anita212. I think your room size can accommodate two seating areas. The arrangement below is pretty much to scale. It features a 7' sofa and four arm chairs that are modestly sized (about 36" x 36"-ish). The two seating areas are bridged by a low bench. Most of the seating can enjoy the fireplace. It appears that there is a door leading to another area to the left of the fireplace and I've placed a console to its left. Hopefully, this will give you some ideas.

I am afraid i do not understand. when you walk in the house you are supposed to enter the living room, which is normally decorated nicer than the family room. many do not even put a tv in the living room. the family room is generally for the tv, family fun, friends who come over etc. and if possible larger. If you did your home this way, would it not be easier? if not could you explain how you use these rooms?
