Center the rug with the fireplace. Take the bookcase out of the left corner of the room and put that in the space between the kitchen and FR, where the console table now sits. Move the sectional down toward the fireplace, (after centering the rug), add an end table to the outside of the chaise part of the sectional. Someone sitting there wonâÂÂt want to move to get a drink off the coffee table. Be sure there is a lamp there as well, to light that corner of the room. Move the armoire to angle in the corner where the sectional was sitting originally. Use it for storage, perhaps add shelving or even a pull-out shelf for a computer center which can be closed up and put away. The piece is very nice, and gives good height to balance the fireplace and high ceilings. For now, try the console on the wall to the right of the fireplace, and place the new flatscreen on that. Later you may prefer a more substanial cabinet, which can hide other components and store DVDs, etc. If you do that, then try the console table behind the part of the sectional that has its back to the kitchen. Add a comfy upholstered chair in the corner, a bit closer to the fireplace, where the armoire was, along with another small side table and lamp.

Well we have bought the craftsman and there are lots we like about it but i mainly want to create a foyer so it doesn’t walk straight in to living room. it would only let me load 3 images. The wall to take down or half with some craftsman type pillars is to the right of the front door or left from the fireplace right by the front door on first image.

From your description, a full three feet in front of the box bay will be required for your traffic pattern. That means the bay should not be considered a part of the living room and subtracts 3' from its length. The size of your bay will totally determine what can go there. You might do a window seat or just a collection of plants if it's small. It would have to pretty deep to hold chairs and a table. Any more suggestions and sizes will require photos and dimensions.

If I were starting from scratch I would replace the upholstered benches with a small upholstered wing chair and a small round table, and maybe add a bentwood bistro chair, but probably not. (I can imagine people sitting there, temporarily, as part of people coming and going from the house, waiting for others.) As is, I would remove the many pillows and simply leave one of the most decorative pillows on each bench. I would take away the floral arrangement in favor of some thing lower. If all that is too bare for you, maybe find the perfect narrow wall clock, or small mirror, or plate or decorative object above the table between the windows. I think your console table is fine but the objects on it are nerve-wracking for an entryway. (Do rambunctious over-excited children ever arrive at your house?). It all looks like it could easily get knocked over even by an adults carrying packages. I would definitely remove the glass apothecary jars, nice as they are. I think if eventually you put a chair to replace one of the benches, you’ll be surprised at how much use it gets, sitting by the window waiting for a delivery or a ride to show up, waiting downstairs for someone else to finish dressing to go out. So do what’s practical as well.
