Tuesday and Wednesday Blooms
Comments (15)Wow, your Mokan Butterfly has way darker of an eye than mine ever did! Beautiful! I should have given it some more time! Too bad about Pirate King is right! If it would get it's act together, it would be beautiful! Please keep us up to date on what you find out thru your research. I just love the colors of Light Of The World, that color pink just pops!...See MoreFingers crossed that DH will be released on Tuesday!
Comments (24)First full day for DH to be home. I felt guilty about going to work, but he assured me that he'd be okay. We spoke several times during the day and he sounded great until late afternoon. Just got overtired. He feels he's not sleeping well and that's bothering him. I'm guessing he actually is dozing during the day but doesn't realize it. Tomorrow morning he needs to have blood work done in the morning. Hoping the predicted weather doesn't happen....See MoreWednesday's Tip of the Day- Jar opening
Comments (27)Oh, gosh! I thought I was copping out today with this tip because it's more of a nifty gadget tip than one that I came up or stole from a friend, I'm so glad that so many of you will find it useful. They come in different colors, I have a red one and a navy one and I reach for the red one every time. The beauty of this opener is that once you've released the pressure/popped the seal, the top unscrews with ZERO effort, no straining, no gripping, just give a gently twist and it'll come undone instantly, just as easy as putting a lid back on. Casey, I like the look of yours, too. I like how it does the deeper sizes, I'll be on the lookout for one of those, too. And the knife tip is great, in case I can't find one like Casey's! I can see where the Gilhoolie would come in handy, too. Nothing like some good lever action to help open a jar. Some jars are just too big for my hand to fit around, this would help enormously. Great tips, everyone, thanks so much! (And I just want to bop Woody when he scuffs the linoleum, SheilaJoyce, so I'll remember that and maybe spare his life the next time!) lol...See MoreTuesday tea on Wednesday....last tea of July : )
Comments (12)Busy past 3 days for me. Tuesday - taking Mom to have her port flushed then new knife shopping (3 stores), then a Red Lobster Crab Fest lunch. A treat for her birthday. Then dropping her off at Kohl's while I go to the thrift store. It was half off everything day at the thrift store - very crowded even in the afternoon. Didn't find anything I wanted - oh well. Wednesday - Taking Dad to plastic surgeon for consult on cancerous lesion. He was worried, but the doc was able to ease his mind I think. The doc will cut it out in a few weeks in the office, no surgery center, no radiation or chemo needed. Then a few more errands. Then a nice Mexican lunch where Dad enjoys a relieving jumbo margarita. Today Mom's annual pet scan. Two boring hours for her at the cancer clinic, whilst I do Walmart, Aldis, gas station, a 2 more thrift stores. I score a silk blazer for a quarter that is too big for me. Maybe I can alter it enough to fit, but if not...I'm only out 26 cents. And then lunch at pub I hadn't been to before. Mom quipped that going out to eat 3 days in a row felt like a vacation! I agree, but since all these excursions involve a 45+ mile round trip each day and numerous stops, as the driver I'm looking forward to a few days off! :)...See Moremantis__oh
