I am finally back from the dump and so hot I had to shower after the 10 mile drive in the Ranger at 25 MPH. The trees are gone except for the fire wood the neighbor is supposed to come get. I will drag out the longer smaller pieces to remind him. LOL

Found at dump 5 pretty medium glass canister like jars like the old coffee jars. I do not think they are really old though and no markings. I will either use them to hold tea or mosaic them and put the LED candles in them for mood lighting. I think they would be gorgeous done as the Moroccan style. Right now they are soaking because their previous life was to hold spices.

It is 97 degrees and humid today. I am staying inside until this evening when I can spend a few hours in the yard doing what needs to be done.

UGH! Almost Thursday already and so close to August. No! No! No! Summer just got here!

Oh ouch on the naked cooking bacon. So now they think if food looks sexy we will eat more of it?? How dumb.

We don't have Hardee's out here, which I now think is a good thing, lol! But now I have this picture in my head...ugh!

Chris, that is HOT! And the humidity with it...I'm glad you're smart enough to stay inside! It hit 90 today, which is pretty hot for this area. Still cooling down nicely at night, thankfully. I had intended to go outside around 8:00 PM and clean up the yard and our little deck (8x8), but ended up getting sick as a dog. Spent the evening throwing up. Hoping it's just a 24 hour bug. I just drank an Atkins shake, first food of the day, and so far, so good. I have to take my meds in a few, and they go down a lot smoother with something in my tummy.

Your weather sounds great LL. I'll put it at the top of my retirement places list. Where is it again? Oregon or Idaho? We've been at or near 100 for the past week, with a shower yesterday that made the humidity unbearable. This time of year, I spend time looking at Weather.com for cooler places to live. lol Or at least somewhere that cools off in the evening. In this part of Texas, the wind stops in the evening and the humidity goes up so there is no opening windows at night here.

We have Hardee's here but I haven't seen that commercial.

Busy past 3 days for me. Tuesday - taking Mom to have her port flushed then new knife shopping (3 stores), then a Red Lobster Crab Fest lunch. A treat for her birthday. Then dropping her off at Kohl's while I go to the thrift store. It was half off everything day at the thrift store - very crowded even in the afternoon. Didn't find anything I wanted - oh well.

Wednesday - Taking Dad to plastic surgeon for consult on cancerous lesion. He was worried, but the doc was able to ease his mind I think. The doc will cut it out in a few weeks in the office, no surgery center, no radiation or chemo needed. Then a few more errands. Then a nice Mexican lunch where Dad enjoys a relieving jumbo margarita.

Today Mom's annual pet scan. Two boring hours for her at the cancer clinic, whilst I do Walmart, Aldis, gas station, a 2 more thrift stores. I score a silk blazer for a quarter that is too big for me. Maybe I can alter it enough to fit, but if not...I'm only out 26 cents. And then lunch at pub I hadn't been to before.

Mom quipped that going out to eat 3 days in a row felt like a vacation! I agree, but since all these excursions involve a 45+ mile round trip each day and numerous stops, as the driver I'm looking forward to a few days off! :)

llucy your trips sound like mine. Try to get everything in in one trip. Three days in a row would kick my butt. If I have to run around down below I try to do it while Joe is getting his chemo so we can just head home when he is done. Hoping all is good on the PET scan. Funny a port flush the day before a PET scan. Don't they access her port for the scan?

Hi Chris. The port flush was 2 days before the PET scan and I don't think they have accessed the port since her treatments last year. My understanding (and I may be wrong) is that if today's scan is clear, she can have the port removed. ??

I'd rather run errands than spend so much time in chilly medical waiting rooms, so I don't mind that part. Most weeks I only need to take them into town once or twice. It's the long drive 3 days in a row that tires me.

Llucy great news on being able to have the port removed. When Joe was not getting chemo he only had to go once a month to 6 weeks for his port flush.

I agree those medical offices are always cold. I guess it is supposed to keep down germs?? I am with you on wanting to get the running around done while they wait. I usually go through all the labs and doctor part then head out for the stores I need to go to. His chemo this time is only an hour and a half. I have to hurry. Fortunately most of the stores I need are within two miles of the clinic.

I've often wondered why medical offices are so cold and the germ theory. Yet hospital wards are not so cold - they keep them comfortable enough for patients who have to wear those thin open backed gowns so what's up with that? Lol. And why not have a bench outside the office where people who are waiting can go out and sit to warm up for a bit? Most of the facilities we go to don't have one.

No matter how hot it is outside, my mom and I always have a light jacket or cardigan with us to deal with the a/c in offices, restaurants and stores. My mom's cancer treatment last year has made her even more sensitive to low a/c. The pub we went to today was so cold I brought in the jacket I had just bought for her to wear over the knit jacket she was already wearing. Didn't help much. Then I saw outside seating at the side of the restaurant so we moved out there. Luckily the rain held off while we enjoyed our lunch!
