Need to site Teasing Georgia, Tea Clipper and others
Comments (17)Oui hoovb - it gets very, VERY hot and humid here. That's why I'm so ecstatic over the spring flush when I can go out and enjoy the weather. I basically stay inside in the AC all July and August. The fall flush is equally appreciated for those reasons. I love seeing roses in October and November. I'm hoping for good things from Tea Clipper, it only has three blooms on it now, I don't know how many buds, but it is over 4 feet high but narrower, maybe 2 1/2 to 3 feet wide. I'm going to have to support it in some way while it is going through its awkward teenage phase. It is in full sun in really good soil so I'm hoping for the best. It is grafted. I decided almost all Austins do better grafted, at least here. I do have canker problems here too, Maggie always gets it but manages to throw out new canes every year. I lost a lot of roses a few years back to canker after the Easter freeze. TG didn't have any problems with it this past winter even though it was a colder one than normal. Maybe it is because we didn't have the normal January thaw and no real freeze/thaw cycles at all. Hopefully my pyramid structure will help support the canes so they don't snap off. I haven't tied them to it so there are a few errant canes here and there but I like that informality. Comments (43)We had a short thunderstorm last evening. Hooray! No need to drag hoses around this morning. Here's POINT GAME Part 2 This one is based on our Bingo word bilingual, relating to two languages. The items numbered are colors in a foreign language. The items with letters are types of flowers. Your task is to match the numbers and letters so each pair is written in the same language. Each of the letters and numbers will be used only once in your answers. (I hope the same word is not used in more than one language, but I will check that in awarding points.) Send your guesses to me through Message or email. Simply post here on the thread that you sent answers so I will be sure to look for them. Example. If these were in English and #8 was “gold” and the only other English word on the list was h. “daylily”, you would give that as one answer: 8h. Send me all 7 guesses for #1-7. You are matching the items under numbers and under letters so they are written in the same language. The person(s) with the most answers right will get 5 points. For 2 extra points you can list which language each pair is. 2 more points if you correctly translate all the words into English. The last 2 parts are not required as part of the game --- just a bonus if you want to try for it --- and all 7 must be correct for you to get bonus points. Please send your answers to me by the end of the day Saturday. I'll announce the winner on Sunday. Once again, I hope this makes sense. I'm “creating” these games as I go along so I always wonder if my instructions make sense. czerwona blanc amarillo oranssi bílý flavo blau a. nelke b. gardénie c. lys d. tulppaani e. helianthus f. crisantemo g. róża Remember, this is the last day to send in your Bingo words if you are interested. Tomorrow is the last day to sign up for the swap. Enjoy! Jeanne...See MorePlease, don't make me drink tea alone!
Comments (15)" hope Shades will be back, too. And ML." I do too! i'm glad you're back and that phoggie posted here! i'm glad to see the heat go - not that I want the really cold to show up... it can get down to 30 (or even less) here. that's usually only a few nights tho. but I have to remember to cover the pump when that happens! I am (just mentally so far) planning on what I have to do to move the printer stand/printer from the 'winter place' of the heater/fireplace. That'll come up quickly - I want it in place before eye surgery, so I'm not caught with a really cold night and no heater. the really cold ones don't usually come until maybe Feb tho. and I need to get my blanket out (ok, it's about 5' away from the bed). OTOH, things don't seem to go the way I think they should, so we could have snow in Nov - lol! And I need to be looking for a different vehicle. going to look at Honda CRVs, maybe 8 yrs old or so. planned to do that this month, but the days have gotten away from me. i'm going to email the local church to see if their 'ranch guys' can come here and put up a fenced area (out front) for my dog. It's right outside my bedroom window (so hopefully I won't forget she's out there) and the front door is close to my bedroom door - so not far to go to let her out and in - especially at night. I've got some fencing out there and my 'helper person' says there seems to be enough metal posts on the land that can be used to put it up. they'll just have to dig the post holes and put it together. They do this to fund the 'ranch' (halfway house down the road a way). my 'helper' has been sick (she's been having seizures) and has another job that has been hard on her, so she hasn't been by here to help lately. hopefully, she can get on disability. I don't see much chance of her getting a regular job - she's a liability to companies - as was I, when I had to quit working. They don't want to take on a known liability....See MoreLavender Lass
