Do not confuse Coastal Bermuda with the common Bermuda found in your yards which is a turf type grass. Coastal Bermuda hay is a hybrid cultivar that is sprigged into the ground to start pastures or fields with GREEN springs that are still alive. It produces few, if any seeds, and the cut, cured and dry hay will not cause any problems in your garden. You can cover it with some dirt and it will not sprout, it is dead. This link takes you to a very informative article on types of Bermuda grasses, by an Auburn University professor. It is a very valuable cash crop and people do not let a bunch of weeds grow in the fields that they are going to cut and bale. The second or third cutting is probably even better than the first one of the year. It is by no means coarse, as I stated in my posting above, it is fine and spreads easily for mulch. If you click on the link in my posting above to access the picture of the hay in my truck, roll the mouse cursor over the picture and click on the little magnifying glass with the + in it, you can see that it is pretty fine. That was very sweet smelling and excellent hay. It can be shredded up even finer with my mower. I have found straw to be much coarser and a lot more likely to contain seeds of oats or wheat, depending on what it was grown from. That really is little cause for alarm in most cases unless it is just thrown on the garden and neglected. The few plants that do manage to make it up thru thick mulch are easy to pull up. If your concerns are great about this issue, it would not be too hard to find some newspapers or cardboard boxes to use for mulch, but I think that the original question was "Which of three hays should the poster use?" cherbirdwise, great name! You could try sweet autumn clematis, it'll give white flowers but late in the season, even silver vine (polygonum) might do. They are both pretty aggressive once established and should cover the fence.

I have three types: 6 in handles on the upper and big drawers, smaller 4 inch(same) handles on lower small drawers, and bird cage knobs on bottom cabinet doors. I love how they are all mixed up, but they came from the same line so they have the same feel, bottom line is it looks great if you dont use the same all the way around. If you decide on one, I like the pulls you picked. They look better on the upper cabinets.

Thank you all for your opinions! I think I will go with the basalt slate. Can anyone who has laminate recommend what edge to get. I like the more modern look of the square edge but dont want to deal with the brown line. I was thinking of getting the D edge which looks almost square but without seam. The only problem is the layout of my kitchen I have a peninsula and I dont think that edge can go around a corner seamlessly. My layout of the counter is an L shape where the peninsula is the bottom of the L. Does anyone have experience with this? I want to avoid as many seams as possible. Here is a picture of the D edge.
