Which white paint has a gray and peach undertone... Anybody? Anybody? Paint colors don't really *have* undertones. Undertones are just someone's subjective opinion about what a color looks like to them under an unspecified light source. However, every color does belong to a hue family. Hue family is objective and is derived from a color's DNA - basically, we can measure color and the resulting data is what I call color DNA. We use those data values to organize color. And I can tell you there aren't that many colors of white that fit a description of gray and peachy. I listed all of them below. Peachy referring to the Yellow-Red (orange) hue family range. I wonder what she ended up using. I have Simply White kitchen cabinets and I love the white. I’m getting ready to paint the walls in the front of the house (open concept) which is Revere Pewter right now. I love the color but it’s time for a glow up 😀to brighten the space. I’m wondering if going with Simply White on the walls as well as my cabinets will be a mistake. After the Revere Pewter tone for several years I just need some brightness.

I couldn't find the cabinet colors, do you have samples or photos of those. The Cambria Brittanicca is white-ish background with large gray veining. It also comes in a gold tone. Do you have gray veining? I would be a bit concerned that Decorator's White would go to the yellow hue, since it is in the Yellow Hue family and in the "warm" segment of the Color Specialist Color Wheel. It also has a fairly high level of Chroma at 2.084, so has some color. Of those mentioned, Distant Gray has an LRV of 87.9 so it is quite "reflective", it is in the Green/Yellow Hue Family but it only has a chroma level of 1.806, so very little color. Putting a wall color, without knowing the exact color of your upper cabinet color is pretty much impossible. But in any case, when you select a "white", do the walls and ceiling in the same color in a flat finish and the trim in a satin finish, same color. That will keep things cohesive. I would be a bit concerned about the wall color looking like a "mis-match" with your cabinet color. I might try BM OC-117 Simply White, it has low Chroma at .50 and high LRV at 90. So it will be a bright white and might not conflict with your upper cabinet color. That's where I would start. You will have to do sample boards, or get true samples from www.samplize.com They are 12x12" samples that you can stick to walls and ceiling to test with lighting in your home. Your lighting will effect whites more than anything else. Hope this helps.

We all know how hard it is to find the perfect white paint color for our needs. I’m wondering how the base color affects this? In my case, I am leaning toward BM Super White and plan on using BM Scuff-x. How does the base color of Scuff-x differ from Advance for example? How does this affect the finial color? Or am I splitting hairs???
