Suddenly new error message in Windows Mail

I have an old desktop with Vista and have been using the Mail program to access email. All of a sudden today I get this message when I go into the program:

"Winmail.exe

The server
you are connected to is using a security certificate that could not be
verified.

A required
certificate is not within its validity period when verifying against the
current system clock or the timestamp in the signed file.

Do you want
to continue using this server?"

If I click on no it brings me back to the error message. When I click on yes the msg. disappears and I can use the email both sending and receiving fine.

I called my email provider and they say it's something in my program, no problem in their end. I can access it online but I don't want to have to do that. And yes, if I click yes I can still use the program but it's not only a pain it's a mystery on why it's happening. Any ideas? Is it fixable or is the program just wearing out? I do have security protection on my computer.
