There’s no steadfast rule for when it’s appropriate to hang Christmas and other winter holiday decorations — or is there? For some, Thanksgiving kicks off the winter holidays. For others, once Nov. 1 rolls around, it’s time to break out the tartan, string the twinkle lights and turn up the holiday tunes. Tell us, when do you like to decorate for the holidays? Fresh Christmas trees often go on sale the day after Thanksgiving, but holiday decorations and artificial trees arrive in stores before employees can clean out the pumpkins and Halloween candy.
In Columbus, Ohio, this dining table got a seasonal yet simple decorating treatment with fresh evergreen foliage, fallen pine cones and a burlap runner. A rustic wood frame and holiday wreath round out the room. Although this family decorated the dining room with natural materials for the winter holidays, these items could be integrated in home decor throughout the year.
