Comments (6)Lovely! I like the classic white tile and porcelain and how you used furniture pieces in the bathroom. I love that the storage at the end of the tub has pull-outs that can be reached from the toilet. Your custom sink and backsplash and counter are unique and beautiful. Yours may be the first bathroom sink I have seen in which a small or medium dog could be washed! That is a good thing! I showed your pictures to my DH because I am thinking of classic tiled walls with a chair rail for when we redo our bath in a couple of years. He liked it! I was expecting him to say, "too old fashioned." He did not, he said it looked nice. From him, nice is a compliment. He even liked your rows of listello. I was just at the Tile Shop's site the other day looking at the Hampton tiles because someone was selling some on Craigslist. I am hoping to do as you did and get what I can cheaper there, and fill in the rest from the store. I can see that you worked very hard to secure all of your materials - and then cut the floor tiles to size and culled the Hampton tiles, too! You succeeded very well in getting the look you wanted while saving money along the way. Congratulations, and thank you for the pictures and great detail and supply list....See MoreIn search of a bathroom faucet
Comments (16)Yes, although I also looked at the Trinsic, but thought the Ara might work better. If faced with a two-handle faucet, my child will very quickly destroy it by twisting it too hard and too far to make sure that the water is actually off. Not sure why so concerned about getting the water off. One would think it would be obvious that the water is off, but my child is hearing impaired (so can't hear if it is running) and a few years ago was constantly leaving the bathroom with the water running full force. I think seeing my alarm when I realized the water was still running and also having to answer me when I would ask whether the water had been completely turned off prompted my child to go to extreme measures to make sure the water is totally off---to the point of breaking faucets. My child also has some vision difficulties, as well as dementia---thus forgetting to do things like turn off the water. So we need sturdy faucets and, definitely, one-handle faucets. I do like the look of the Hansgrohe, but pretty certain it's more expensive than the Delta faucets I've been considering....See MoreJanky plumbing job- help!! (x-posted from bathrooms)
Comments (12)Asking for wall mounted shower fixtures was a mistake. Free standing tubs are not meant to have showers unless it is a hand held shower wand. That configuration is common in Europe. To convert this tub to a fixed overhead shower it is necessary to install an exceedingly clumsy 4 sided shower curtain rod that is hug from the ceiling with a supply pipe or hose from a tub mounted faucet set with a diverter valve. I own one of these horrible things and I wish I had the space to make it a proper tub or a shower stall. It is claustrophobic and provides no way to catch your balance since you are wrapped in plastic coated nylon that tends to cling to you with the shower on and it is necessary to bend very low to adjust the two faucet handles. I can't imagine why anyone would intentionally build one of these things. The OP's configuration would need a drain in a waterproof floor. Floor-mounted tub fill and shower wand:...See MoreCan I use a kitchen faucet in my bathroom sink
Comments (9)Here ia a link to the specs on the faucet you have chosen: https://s7d1.scene7.com/is/content/Pfister/ss-lg26-xnxx Based on these specs, plumbing-wise there is no reason that this wouldn't work, however In addition to the issues that have been raised so far (see Sammy's comment above), this faucet is very tall and will probably look out of scale. It may also be in the way for tasks like washing one's face. If you like the faucet suggested by Sammy- go with that!...See MoreHobie Webern
