Using roman tub faucet for bathroom sink? (Water pressure etc.)
Comments (2)A tub filler would allow a much much larger of volume of water to flow. Whether it's "Roman" or any other name. Most bathroom sinks are hand rinse "lavatory" shaped about the size of a large salad bowl. A fire hydrant is not an appropriate device to fill a bowl. Some companies publish the flow rate of their tub fillers. You can see this on their web site....See MoreDoable...European sink & US bathroom pop-up drain and faucet?
Comments (7)Yes - of course you can. Most of the high end showers we build use German, Italian, french and English hardware. The fittings you seek something you need to know how to find and ask for. Here is a secret. Don't walk into the store and say "Hey - I bought the meat and potatos all ready over seas but really need the $20.00 fitting you sell to make it work". Find out who sells the high end stuff - go ask the questions in store. here in Vancouver the goto shop is Cantu. They are bomb barded with people shopping at Ikea and not being able to hook stuff up. I have heard from multiple people that Ikea sends them to Cantu. And Cantu asks "Where did you buy it?" Round and round you go. Companys actually make Euro to North American adapters. Some companys design their pieces top be cut and once cut the remeainder is NA. So many versions. The School of Hard Knocks is your friend....See MoreWill this faucet fit my bathroom sink?
Comments (2)Most likely it will fit, unless your existing sink has a too-small mounting hole for the new faucet (but that is unlikely). However, if you are not knowledgeable about plumbing you might want to get some help from a handy friend as removal of the old faucet might be a challenge if you are inexperienced and lack proper tools. For example, if the space up under the the back of the sink is tight you might need a basin wrench to remove to get at the fittings and remove the old faucet. Basin Wrench Also, you may need adapter fittings for the hot and cold water lines if the existing fittings don't match those from the new faucet.I'm not trying to discourage you, but simply trying to prepare you for the unexpected....See MoreCan I put a kitchen sink in the bathroom?
Comments (5)The trap in a bathroom sink is often 1.25" while the trap for a kitchen sink is 1.5". However, both traps then connect to a standard 1.5" drain pipe. You will have to replace the trap (you would be anyway...) but that is cheap. You might have to lower the point where the trap connects (which shouldn't be terrible, but will add a little cost to it.)....See Moreacm
