New dynamics at the bird feeders

A couple of months ago I had posted about losing our male cardinal. After that we didn't see the female as much. We were hoping that she found a new mate to hang out with this winter. But, she has been coming more and more and bringing him with her.

The problem now is a mockingbird has moved in and become territorial, running off all the other birds, including my El Groucho, aka Lonesome Dove. This mockingbird can even fend off several blue jays, which gives the smaller Chickadees and wrens a chance to swoop in and feed. The finches have nearly been run off altogether.

I wish this Mockingbird would move on to other territories. The new male cardinal is too timid to feed much and I only see The Lonesome Dove for short periods now because the Mockingbirds runs them all off. The funny thing is this Mockingbird has very little interest in the feeders or the seed.

This has been going on for a week or so. Hopefully it won't last for much longer.
