New bird feeder

My hubby made this for me. I think he's got the bug. He is always poking fun at me when I say, "that would make a good bird feeder", but now he's making them for me. Or it could be a bird bath.

Yup, gotta see a photo or specific details. Doesn't sound like bees but... Also, where are you exactly too would help narrow down once you provide good details and/or photo. If not, I could send photos of something to try and narrow it down. How many bees and what kind of feed was it? Did the feed have beetle larvae in it and what you were really looking at was Vespula wasps eating the larvae? A stretch but until I see/hear more, too hard to say. Gord

What a charming little garden you built for your birds! That shows some foresight and planning! I once had a seasoned bird watcher tell me that the most important element for attracting birds was a source of water, so that may have been even more helpful in attracting your winged friends than the feed you put out for them. Enjoy! I hope you heal quickly, but in the meantime it looks like you will stay entertained watching this pleasant scene out your window. It beats watching tv all day!

They are constantly checking their territory for new food sources, so one or two of them blunder into the feeder and start eating, other birds see them eating and it's been discovered.

What a guy! Great use for old pot covers. And it looks wonderful too. If a bug is going to bite your DH it might as well be the junk bug!

What a great idea.
Perhaps one shouldn't tell Hubby he's been bitten nor that the first creation is never the last.. lol

Your DH re-cycled! Yeah! Always seeing these old canning lids at GS or TS or GW...what a way to re-purpose & also like the "simplicity" look...altho I know drilling & getting chains the same length & hanging even... would be work! Bird feed should stay fairly dry / or a shaded bird bath! TFS! Jeanne S.
