Alabaster type lighting fixture and pendant lights
Comments (6)Checked out Hubbardton Forge, nice stuff, not exactly the right sizes or colors. But a very nice line. While at Lamps Plus I did see the Kichler Montara Collection 24 1/2" Wide Pendant light with umber glass. It's a bit old world and might have to be shortened but the price was certainly right! I've also seen ONLINE this porcelain fixture, but I hate to buy something like this sight unseen! I have about 114" from the beam to the floor and a pendant will spread the light better as well as look better mounted on the beam. That leaves about 7 ft from the floor and this will/should sit over the large square glass/wood coffee table. Comments (3)Talk to your lighting store about what wattage you can use, but if that's what it came with and you just want to adjust the color rendering of the bulb, then change the Kelvin rating but stick with a 60 wall equivalent....See MoreBest type of light fixture w only 1 light in kitchen - & paint colors!
Comments (5)These were a few things available locally - and there is a Walmart in a close town so anything online (canada) is easily returnable. this is 13" x 20" w 4 60w bulbs 29" x 17", 22" tall (extendable for lower) 18" x 23" fixture plus drop chain - seems way too big right??...See MoreWhat bulb for milk glass light fixture?
Comments (13)Hmmm... That is strange if you're using the same bulb from your previous fixture and it's casting a much different light through the milk glass. I don't notice any difference between our milk glass, non-milk glass, and exposed bulb fixtures with the same soft white bulbs. They all look slightly warm/yellow to me. We recently got a box of daylight bulbs to try in our basement because I thought we might prefer them now that we're having the space finished. I felt like I'd just walked into a hospital, it was so cold and obnoxiously bright as soon as we switched on the lights with the daylight bulbs. We ended up returning them. I'm more sensitive to light than most people though. I dislike having lights on at all if I can get by with natural light, and we have dimmer switches on most of our lights and set them to the dimmest setting required. I must have been a cockroach in a different life. Hope a new bulb does the trick for you so you can keep your cute fixture. The transformation a different type of bulb can make is pretty amazing....See More- 2 months ago
