Do you have a soap dispenser at your prep sink?
Comments (15)I do. It supports my prep space where I handle produce and meats as well as my baking area where I handle butter, eggs, doughs, etc. If I only had produce, it might not matter so much, but with all we do there, I definitely wash my hands there -- more often than at the cleanup sink and my kitchen wouldn't work without that ability. The island space is also less conducive to having a soap bottle on the counter, so I think it's even more important at the prep sink than at the clean up sink [but I'm not giving up either ;-) ]....See MoreSoap dispenser - any regrets not adding one - or adding one?
Comments (33)southernsticher, the Never MT is basically a long tube with a one way valve on it that attaches from the soap dispenser to a large bottle of soap (dish soap or hand soap.) It takes the place of the plastic soap reservoir that comes with the dispenser. The soap lasts a lot longer between changes and changing is easier since bottles are just swapped out instead of having to pour soap from one container to another. In my case I just have one dispenser at each sink and these dispensers are hooked into my hand soap bottles with the Never MT (tube.) The Never MT comes with different fittings for different size soap bottle mouths. Our soap dispensers were purchased separately from the faucets and don't tie into the faucet in any way. I have a pull down faucet with a single lever handle. We had 2 holes cut---one for the faucet and one for the soap dispenser. Some people do have 2 dispensers--for hand and dish soaps. Our dispenser isn't long enough to reach the plastic tub I put in our single bowl sink for washing dishes. I wouldn't want a long nozzle sticking that far out into my sink because I would probably keep knocking into it with large fry pans and stock pots. Since I only use dish soap approx. once a day, it's not a problem storing it under the sink. Here is a link that might be useful: Never MT...See Moresoap dispenser--do you use it?
Comments (24)I have a cheap Ikea one that matches my expensive HansGrohe faucet very well :) I LOVE it, but second the "check your distances" advice. I let the counter isntaller decide how far back to drill the hole, and he lined it up with the faucet hole. It's too far back; the end of the soap dispenser doesn't clear the marble, so any spills wind up on the marble rather than in the sink. other than that, I am SO glad I have it. Otherwise, we'd always be reaching under the sink for dish soap or hand-washing. Or have a dispenser sitting on the counter . I like this much better!...See MoreTwo soap dispensers at kitchen sink...?
Comments (12)I've been using two different soap products forever. It never occurred to me to use dishwashing soap for my hands. If it's so good at dissolving grease, it might be too harsh for my hands. As for the frequency of using dishwashing soap -- that's not what's driving my decision to have dispensers. I just hate the clutter and dripping soap at the sink. Dispensers look nice and are quite convenient. I've long had one for dish soap and wouldn't go back to using a bottle....See Morebossyvossy
