Comments (6)Marianne, for right now in the photo of the balcony you can see I have just a bit of shade cloth on on there where I put the seedlings from about 1-3pm, the hottest time of the days. But the weather is going to be cooling down with time (like this week the highs will be around the mid 80s unlike last week in the 90s) so I am not putting up any more shade cloth. Linda and Sey, unlike the containers I used at my in-laws' roof which were I believe 45 gallon fabric pots, I will be using 20 gallons fabric pots this time around just because of space issues. Comments (12)Normally I direct sow, but maybe starting in containers outside could work. I would have to think of a place that gets enough sun, but not so much sun or the hatched seedlings will dry out for sure. I don't leave until 2nd week of Oct and normally things I have direct sowed are popping up within that 1st week, but I am trying some new stuff I never did before and this is fall not spring so maybe fall seedlings take longer. If I get my butt in fast enough gear I could divide the packets into 3rds and do an experiment direct sow, containers and the last 3rd when we get back home. Ohh to be so organized. With all the decluttering threads I've been reading lately, I hope everyone (myself included) will read and heed. We're not filled to the gills, but we do need to sort out and get rid of an over-abundance of things so we don't put our kids through this one day. Comments (4)Pull the rug so it is under the front legs of the sofa. Would the picture rails fit to the left of the FP? You could put the 2 pieces by the same artist above the sofa. Just make sure the bottoms are both 5" above the sofa back. I just painted my FP also. Although it is same color as the mantle it looks a little different like yours. I didn't want to paint mine because I don't trust myself to get it right....See More
