Will 27 inch wall oven fit in 27 inch cabinet?
Comments (16)Thanks for all the replies - I can understand why people are suspecting my contractor of ignorance. That can happen, but I don't believe it to be the case this time. I think he is making sure I am happy with the outcome and have a oven that won't tip or tear out cabinet face frame. Maybe he is being over cautious.... It sounds like it is possible to just set the 27 inch oven on top of a base support instead of IN a 27 inch cabinet - is this correct? Then use some filler pieces if there is any space left exposed, right? Ok, so how would you secure the oven if you are NOT screwing clips to the face frame. If we were to anchor it to the back of the wall, it would certainly be secure, BUT, if the oven ever needed servicing or removal, would we have to remove our granite counter to get at it? Also, what should we do about supporting the granite counter above? Should we use the MDF vertical cabinet sides on either side of the oven?? I'm not at all concerned about the cost of the cabinet. It was only $130, then Home Depot gave me another $50 off when I asked about the problem with their cabinet specs. My only concerns are making sure the oven is secure with support for the granite. This oven will be adjacent to a wall, so it is at the end of a line of countertop....See Morewill a 32 inch sink fit in 33 inch sink base?
Comments (18)Thanks so much @Joseph Corlett, LLC, and for replying so quickly too. The Blanco sink we wanted was a regular one bowl sink, not an apron front. Not sure if this would change anything. The picture you posted was great. So when installing a new sink, we would remove the front of the cabinet and the sink would slide out, correct? I found out about sink straps from your posts here after we started the remodel. If I had known before, I would have picked a contractor willing to install with straps. We are a big family and a large sink is important to us. He cannot understand how straps attached to the cabinet are strong enough to hold up the sink. He is not willing to cut into the new cabinet as he says it would weaken the cabinet (see triangular pieces in corners that would have to be removed in picture below). It would also void the warranty, and he has supplied the pre-fab cabinets, so either I find someone else who is willing to, or I get a drop in sink to avoid attaching to the plywood, which is the way I'm leaning now. Do you know of anyone with your expertise with strap installation in Los Angeles? I hope there's a way to install the top mount sink into the quartz where we can do an undermount with straps in the future. Also a side question. We had mold damage which started the kitchen demo. Mold was around the dishwasher cabinetry (dishwasher leak), and also on the plywood subdeck around the sink (we think from weak caulking and holes in grout between granite tiles on countertop). Is there anything that can be done to protect the cabinets from dishwasher leaks? By the time you realize the dishwasher is leaking, the damage is already done. Thank you so much. This the sink we had planned to install: Blanco Precis - Undermount The top mount we will probably install: Diamond Blanco Sink - Top Mount...See More24 inch sink base possible? Can't find a sink!
Comments (17)My first thought is an 18" dw is fine for a small rental kitchen. We rented out part of the lower part of our first house. We went to trouble and expense to make the kitchen better than what was there. Long story short, every single tenant we had religiously bought take out and used the larger fridge we bought for some lonely leftovers, beverages and condiments. The second to last tenant asked us to remove the island to fit his big sectional in and the last guy did not use it either. We wasted well over $1k, when we were new homeowners and cash was tight, in an effort to have a better rental unit. I'd do a modest size sink and give them more drawer space. You don't want them able to pile up too many dishes anyway.... Ikea has great options for smaller kitchens. Try out their online planner and ask for help when you go there....See MoreSize of Kitchen sink for 27 inch base cabinet ...
Comments (8)A 27" sink will undermount into a 27" cabinet. A 33" sink will undermount into a 33" cabinet, etc. I've done this a million times. The sink manufacturers provide junk clips and want to provide access to fat plumber hands. Strap your sink in place, Hercules Universal Sink Harness (Braxton Bragg) or Sink Strap (GranQuartz), no access needed and your sink won't leak. Oh, and drilling into your engineered stone for the clips voids the manufacturer's warranty, so don't have your sink clipped in place by the fabricator before installation please. And he needs room for the clips along the front so you'll get an ugly fat front rail. Skinny rail with straps: 2 1/4" with a 1 3/8" overhang with straps. Purty,...See Moreglfjjf
